i sense impending DRAMAAAAH so, let me just say that with silence i'm not trying to claim that i invented skull illusions. Jesus lol. There are lots out there, this is just my take on it. And no i did not use another existing illusion as reference.
So whoever's trying to stir up a shitstorm.... seriously wtf

Idk who would ever want to start sh*t over such an amazing piece of art. The time and effort and attention to detail that goes into something like this is past anything I could ever imagine doing. To be honest with you, I think -these people- that leave "sh*t talking comments or nasty messages" are nothing short of people that are green with envy and jealously perhaps because they didn't think of it first, or they wouldn't even begin to know how to start making something as beautiful as this and on that note I say F*** them! Well done and well deserved DD! congrats!

This is SO gorgeous. Especially the quiet romantic atmosphere between the two figures that builds the looming skull. I particularly like the fact that it's not entirely about death, but maybe about the death of a relationship or personality. AHH. SO GOOD. <3 What mediums did you use?? :3 :3 :3

What would matter if you used an existing illusion as a reference? I don't remember that being a crime. Secondly, whatever idiot that wants to claim that you're claiming to have invented the skull illusion needs to... do something *far* more serious than just grow up. They need to allow their brain to blossom. Also, just saying, if you *did* claim to have invented the skull illusion, then you need to stop making art. Here's the thing, though. No where do I see that you have claimed to invented it, so what's people's problem? This is what I think about them:
1) Drama hungry.
2) Jealousy.
3) Straight up stupidity.
No other explanations. ^.^
Now that I've gotten *that* out of the way, I can finally share my personal opinion on this. Very nice job. ^.^

This is very well done, it has both a romantic and eerie feel to it. I also learned something by checking it out! I had no idea how far back the tradition of skull illusions went, so that was pretty interesting. Mark Twain supposedly had one hanging in his house too.
Anyway, I like what you achieved here. Very nice use of texture to convey the different surfaces and the way the light plays on them. It really feels like it has a good story behind it.

The couple are facing each other in this one and they are in a marsh.
The kids in the other picture are back-to-back, in a forest with fields of flowers.

How is this image stolen? They look nothing alike, it seems silly to think that because someone has a skull illusion that they are copying it off someone else. Thats like saying someone copied the heart sign from someone else. And thats universal....

Very close on purpose! Remember that art is responsive to many artists before it. That is it's purpose~ Manet himself used direct references [link] to renaissance art before him [link] to show old themes in a more contemporary light. Mellolover's memento mori and Monavx's version are of the same idea, yes, but keep in mind that there are many [link] MANY [link] before them and there will continue to be as long as anyone cares to respond to it with their own spin.
I know you've apologized already but you seem to still be concerned with the fact that they are closely constructed. You are right, but it is completely valid--pictures and paintings made with the same thing help historians and contemporaries trace culture through time with the clues hidden in each image.
