The V5M2 was a further developement of the V5M, ultimately serving as the primary rifle of the Novian armed forces. The rifle pictured above features the standard green color to match the water-logged jungles of Novus.

Utilizing a 5mm high velocity cartridge, the rifle was designed to defeat Earth Union standard combat armor while minimizing ammunition cost and weight. Compared the the Earth Union's "STORM" series of rifles, the V5M2 boasted better accuracy, reduced recoil, and improved reliability. However, this came at a cost. The V5M2's per unit price was nearly double that of the STORM series, requiring higher quality components and a more precise manufacturing process.
