People wanted to pair Twilight with other characters including their oc's, her friends in a yuri pairing, Spike in whatever, Shining Armor in incest, or some other stupid crap like that. But now that Twilight has a love interest, it pissed them off and they see Flash as an obstacle for their silly ideas.

Aye even I'm not that petty, even through I have an alicorn character OC called Darko who is a king of a forgotton land and controls dark magic (uncorrupted) who has a crush on Luna. But if Luna was given an official love interest in the show I wouldn't complain I'll just keep my shipping to my stories and RP's and let the show keep theres same goes for anyone else I know who have a shipping that has a character I have shipped with someone else I will just let them have there pairing and keep mine.

yeah you can set the events so it's like set in an alternate universe where the events of that made the canon pairing didn't happen or they did but the romance part didn't happen that's what I do mainly.

It's because it's something they aren't used to. They only like what they know and are afraid of change. It's not just this fandom, it's many people in general. But all I can think is "What happened to Love and Tolerate"? I practice it. Why can't they?

Some dumb concept that nothing should change by the end to prolong the series.
One of the good things about MLPFiM is that there's progression of story with each episode - like Rainbow Dash getting a pet and an interest in reading, Luna adjusting to modern life better, the Cutie Mark Crusaders getting steadily stronger (easiest seen in the train station scene in One Bad Apple), Trixie mending bridges with Twilight (even if she's still a bit of a ham), families expanding (like the Cake twins, Shining Armor and Cadance, even Babs), Discord accepting the good in him (even if mischievous-good), and Twilight discovering her amazing potential in Magical Mystery Cure and Equestria Girls...
All these do well in expanding the world of Equestria more and more, as well as broadening the characters themselves.
And yeah, I have no qualms about more family being shown. There were blank spots in the family trees from the start for the sake of filling them when needed.

Exactly! On all accounts, I agree! It's called character development! If they didn't develop, it wouldn't be a slice of life show. It wouldn't be what it is. Instead, it would be Spongebob Squarepants with ponies! It would sink with no characters keeping the qualities they learn. That's what makes Friendship is Magic so unique and special! That's what keeps me hooked on it! If nothing changes and the series goes on the same forever, it will get old and stale. Even then those people wouldn't like it because they would complain about it not changing.

i don't know why they keep saying twilight is going to become a mary sue by becoming a alicorn but that only in fanfiction and the writers of the show said it themselves that twilight is not change personally she still the same pony we loved all throughout the series
