NOMNOMNOMGOTLAZY.

...so! I've had this sketch done by the radically awesome for some time now, but I've never gotten around to coloring it because of XYZ reasons. Soooo I finally colored it, and I'm still sorta working on it, but I'm posting up the 25% size CAUSE IT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR NAO. >_>

This is Brooke'n'Breaker, BTW. They're my ultra-head-bashing rock band duo sorta from what I hope will end up being my first graphic novel, Chaos Overdrive. Breaker is the leader of his band, has some supressed trauma from when he was a kid, is an alcoholic, strums like mad and sings like heaven and hell, dyes his hair red, wears freaky contacts and is generally...Breaker. Brooke, on the complete other hand, is the daughter of a rich casino owner, loves new-age pop rock and rap, despises blue and loves pink, hates any sort of rock, is an amazing poet, takes karate and is full of spunk.

In short, he hates her guts and she hates the entire band, but they have to work together cause she needs to pay em back for saving her ass. Ain't love grand?!

...so, I really wanted 1) to go darker with this cause I do a LOT of light stuff, 2) have some crazy lighting effect because backstage you still have crazy lighting, and 3) show sort of their conflicts of emotions through the lighting. So, as the main lighting source I chose blue, Breaker's favorite color (but Brooke despises it). Then , I went for a nice neon pink for the backlight to piss Breaker off and make Brooke a little more satisfied. I think I pushed the blue a little too far on Breaker's hair, but, ah dammit, I don' care no mo. Coulda pushed the shadows some more, but, eh, again...

I'm jealous of Jojo's scanner. That monster scanned it in and it has the freakin' pencil texture showing through on the lineart. That's bad for me, cause I gotta trace over it now so that the lines are all solid...I started but I just wanted to finish the major coloring before I got to that and smudgin the hell outta this so I can have a really kickass poster of this to hang in my room.

Uh....yeah, reallly lame band logo up there. It was looking empty, so I just grabbed a few brushes off some people on DA. >>' It's not gonna stay that way. I'll be working on it...sometime...whenever I'm not so epic fail...@_@ The star brush came from ~ylenya , and the swirly cool brushes and the showoff brush came from =Axeraider70 . Again, it's just a temp logo- I'll probably have the design for the band finished from my own brushes whenever.

...the one thing that really got me goin' and my blood a boilin' was the frickin' skin contrast of Breaker and Brooke. Brooke's a little Italian, so her skin looks olivy and fine, but Breaker looks like he has fuggin' high blood pressure or something. Which, rest assured, he does not. If anything he should maybe have some jaundice from drinking so much, the lush. XD

I was working at the mall actually yesterday when these two girls that went to my high school (least I think they were! I could be wrong!) came to my register to be rung up. One of the girls, I swear to god looked exactly like a real life Brooke. Sounded nothing like her but when I saw her my mind screamed BROOKE! BROOKE! Seriously. Granted, her hair was styled just a little different (her hair was all back in one ponytail instead of Brooke's half pulled back style), but she even had bangs hanging in her face and I was like HO SHIT. Color of hair, color of eyes, everything. It was freaky and cool all the same. :3

Anyways, enough rambling! I'm done.
