Description Sunset over Johnson's Shutins in the Ozark region of Missouri.
I had to wait awhile to get this shot, so many people here get in your way

Canon 10D
Sigma 12-24mm
100iso
3 Seconds at F12
6 stop grad filter to keep the sky exposed

Note: My favorite part of this image is the orange reflections in the small streams

Thanks alot man!
Actually two people sitting on the rocks on the left were in the photo So I had to crop off a sliver on the left side, that place is always crowded

A 6 stop filter? Whoa - now that's what I need. I've got a 2 stop one right now, which is only really good when the light is starting to dim. Something that strong lets the creative mind loose - who made the filter?

Love the composition, love the colours, love the long exposure - each of these elements have produced a fantastic shot.

Thanks alot man!
I have a 6 stop cokin grad filter and a Singh-ray 3 stop grad filter, and if you stack them on top of each other than you can have 9 stop grad filter
Singh-rays are by the best grad filters but they are a bit expensive ($110) a filter compared to $15 a Cokin filter

absolutely beautiful
i like how the picture has such vibrant colours, categorized into 3 vivid stripes.
the texture of rocks, the trees, and the sky makes a wonderful observation for the sense of sight.
needless to say, this is perfect.
i just wish this pic covers a wider horizon, its just abit too narrow. coz i'd want to have a pic like this staring into my face as i stare into it.

Thanks alot!
Actually the original image is wider but a person with a bright YELLOW shirt on the left was in the frame so I had to crop that out wich made the image a bit skinny
But at least I got some part without people

Wow, i like how saturated the colours are, and how there are layers. The orange sky, then the green trees and the orange rocks. Very nice exposure on the water and great detail in the rocks.
Great shot

Thanks alot for the fav man!
Nope, I dont manipulate, looks a bit strange because I used a strong soft grad filter, plus if it was manipulated sky how would I get the matching orange reflections in the water?

Only people who dont know what they are doing, need photoshop!!!

I can tell you that I was standing right next to him, (saw the shot right after it was taken) and took a similiar shot, different angle, different composition, but still the same colors with my camera, except on slide!

Holy frigg, that graduated filter did wonders to keep everything nicely exposed. I still need to get me one of those. The colors and smooth, flowing lines are wonderful to stare at. Nice choice in focal point/aperture, too, as everything (including close up stuff) seems to be sharply captured. It would appear that there was a very slight problem with sun flare, but other than that this image came out perfectly. Keep up the good work.

wow, fantasitic, the sky is beautiful and the waiting definitely paid off. must've been a bit tricky exposure to get the rocks so well lit as well as the dark trees and the bright sky. good job. also like the way the treeline slopes to the left then the rocks slope back to the right and finally a nice, barely noticeable line in the water slopes right into the centre of the frame. very nice composition, takes the eye right through all of the great detail. I think this deserves a +fav, I really like it
