What's this? A brand-new, original alien that isn't a redesign of someone else's genius? Impossible!

Yes, it has been a while since I've made an alien of my own design, hasn't it? I blame it on college courses draining my creativity fluids. Fortunately, the semester's closing out pretty soon, so I'll hopefully be posting a tad more frequently in the coming weeks. Speaking of time, as some of you might've already guessed, this guy was suppose to be released around Halloween which, obviously, didn't happen. But who says Halloween is the only time you're allowed to release something spooky? After all, Thanksgiving or Christmas have their own respective horrors . . . such as visiting in-laws!

Onto the facts!

Name: Slasher

Species: Krugerot

Home World: Anur Englond

Powers/abilities: Slasher's most prominent ability are his enormous, sharp claws. Armed with two pairs on four arms, he is able to attack both in front and behind him, granting him 360-degree combat capability. His claws are sharp and strong enough to easily slice through processed wood and leave gouges in materials as strong as stone and concrete.

Being nocturnal, Krugerots have excellent night vision due to having two sets of tapetum lucidum in their one day. This allows what little, natural light is available to them to reflect not one, but twice back into their retina, allowing them to perceive near-complete blackness with practical clarity.

Slasher is able to dissolve his body's indivudal atoms on a whim and assume a vaporous form that allows him to slip through small spaces, remain undetected by security systems, and avoid most devestating attacks aimed at him. He is then able to reconstitute himself as needed, though the process takes a few seconds.

Krugerots have highly agile and are able to leap little over two stories in a single bound. They can additionally spin like a top with the arms thrust out, essentially turning themselves into a living saw blade that can cut through more resiliant objects or materials.

Weaknesses: Though Slasher is capapble of seeing in the daylight, if he was previously in the dark, the sudden change in light will blind him. This also applies to powerful sources of bright light being shined upon, such as that from a spotlight or flashlight.

When in their vaporous forms, Krugerots are vulnerable to sudden gusts of wind or powerful suctions, such as that produced by a vacuum cleaner.

Slasher will be unable to transform into another alien if he hasn't completely reconstituted himself from his gaseous form.

Krugerot's are vulnerable to teleportation and can't be teleported while in their vaporous forms. They additionally can't be teleported with other objects or organisms due to their unstable, atomic makeup, which could result in them being fused with whatever else was teleported with them.

Etymology: Slasher takes his name from the titular sub-genre of horror movies, which are typically defined their acessive use of blood, gore, violence, and blades as murder weapons.

Trivia: The species name is taken from Freddy Kruger, the famous antagonist of Wes Craven's A Nightmare on Elm Street, which they bare a resemblance to.
The species' home world is named after actor Robert Englund, who consistently portrayed Freddy Kruger throughout the Nightmare on Elm Street series and television spin-off.

Ben considers Slasher to be one of his creepiest aliens, and one that he is quite fond of. This is largely due to how his abilities allow him to put his enemies on edge without the risk of the transformation's personality overriding his own, as in the case of Ghostfreak.

Rojo is especially terrified of Slasher, though she won't ever admit it.

Slasher speaks in a raspy voice and often makes puns based on sharp objects.

Krugerots are a violent and predatory species that relish in the hunt of their prey. Descended from nocturnal, arboreal predators, their social heirarchy largely revolves around the number of kills an individual has made at any point in their lives. Those who have particularly high kill counts not only hold positions of power, but are often studied in a similar manner to holy texts so that their knowledge and methods may be shared with the rest of their society. When it comes to clans, Krugerots with the highest number of kills among them are considered to be the head of the family and in charge of the daily affairs. It is often tradition however, for the children of the current family head to one day usurp the position of their parent; failure to do so tends to lead to ostrasization, if not outright exile, depending on the specific family traditions.

Ocassionally however, if the method used in the hunting of prey is particularly unique, notable, or effective, Krugerots with low numbers of kills made can reach influential positions and are treated in a similar manner to that of celebrities and famous performing artists. Some of these individuals even put on bloody performances in order to display the novelty of their methods.

Krugerots have hunted the other sapient species of the Anur System at one point, though before they recognized their intelligence. They have since ceased such activities, though there are whispers of highly illegal, canned hunting rackets of sorts on the black market.

Of all the species in the Anur System, the Krugerots get along best with the similarly predatory Loboan. Though conflict between private territory is expectedly intense, the two species often enjoying hunting together and sharing prey with one another.

Despite its close proximity to Anur, Anur Englond has low global temperatures as a result of its atmosphere largely comprising of oxygen and sulfur, which don't retain heat as easily as other gases do. This, combined with the significantly extensive amount of sunlight it receives in comparison to the rest of the planets in its system, has led to boreal and temperate forests covering much of the available landmass. This, combined with their ever-growing claws and a great abundance of prey, has allowed the Krugerots to facilitate significant leaps in technological prowess and spread across their planet. Unlike most sapient species however, they have chosen to preserve and maintain much of their ancestral, forest habitat in order to sustain the prey species they hunt, as well as the necessary cover to sneak up on them. This has resulted in most Krugerots living in simple structures reminiscent of log cabins, though they are significantly more civilized and technologically outfitted. Agriculture and keeping of livestock however, is a concept that the species hasn't widely adopted and is typically reserved for those that can no longer keep up with the demands of the hunt, such a the handicapped or elderly.

Contrary to what one might expect from their culture, Krugerots don't have a 'survival of the fittest' mentality and quite happily look after those that are incapable of hunting for themselves, as it gives them an additional reason to hunt even more prey.
