Description I love this new colour out this year for the Corvette (or maybe it's just the Z-06). I loved this angle as well, so here's my second Corvette vector. Probably my most complex. Trying to think of how many hours - probably around 20 total?

*EDIT* - editted some rear wheel funkiness, and fixed up the shadows a bit.

Also I should note that this again contains no gradient meshes.

Well - it's pretty time consuming in general. I think most of it is getting used to the pen tool, then it's just lots of details.

Wow, Craig! You put Zenith to shame (see wireframe for reference)!!! This is fantastic work!

Did you re-post the image? I didn't see any "blems" on the right rear tire, as were pointed out in earlier commentary.

I was absolutely amazed at the wireframe, the final product is MOST impressive!!!!!!!

A definite and ELEVEN out of a possible TEN "Bowties" for YOU!!!

hey, truly amazing work! especially light and colors!
i don't do vector art, but i know how verctor graphics work, so i don't get how you do it without gradient meshes. ???
also i believe ~rwolf is right about the steering wheel
(it's turend left while the wheels face right)

CRWPitman In reply to cluelessart [2006-08-29 01:18:37 +0000 UTC]

basically using overlaying gradients/blends between two objects, and using transparency settings to see through them to the underlying gradients/blends. I find it has more control.

Nice althought I don't know if this would be a easy fix, but it looks like the steering wheel is rotated opposite to the wheels are, which throws me off the pic. (looks like the care is suppose to be turning left looking at the interior)

no gradient meshes at all??? that's hard to believe...
so what is it instead? all regular gradients with opacity masks?
show me outlines please

CRWPitman In reply to leo00o83 [2006-08-28 13:42:06 +0000 UTC]

There's a wireframe in my journal entry. Basically I use a lot of blends, and a lot of gradients and blends on top of others using opacity options (usually screen or multiply, but to conserve colours I use darken and lighten a lot too).
