Description
Crowpaw stood at the edge of the clearing. Windpaw had chased after him. By time she found him, she knew something was wrong. What had Fernpaw said to him? She approached him cautiously, unsure of what was in store.
“Crowpaw..?” She answered. Standing still, a distance away, so she could clarify what was going on.
He didn’t answer her. She knew something was bothering him, he never came here of all places anymore, not since he was a kit.
”Go away”. Was the only reply that came from his side.
”Crowpaw? Please I-“.
”..Why! Why do I even bother anymore!” He still wouldn’t face her. Her paw lingered forward, reaching out for him.
”Listen to me. They didn’t-“
She was cut short again.
”Why should I try! They never listen! They expect me to be something that I will never be!
”Fernpaw doesn’t know any better. You know that.” Windpaw’s eyes were furrowed, her claws dug deeply gashes into the ground. She stood there, facing him, and more than anything, she wanted to comfort him. She knew him. She knew him better than anyone. She just wanted him to confide in her.
Crowpaw now turned to face her. His eyes were red, and the bags were strained outwards. Tears stained his face, his fur looked ragged, and his eyes.. They were slitted were fury and desperation.
“You think I don’t know that?! I see the way they look at me! How they all look at me! I can see it in their eyes, even if they don’t say it!”
His eyes narrowed.
“I’m sick of trying to change what they think of me!”
So this is a little exert of writing that pairs with the drawing I did! I started off this drawing with a simple sketch and it ended up inspiring a scene between my two characters Crowpaw and Windpaw which I will expand on more when I end up starting The Call of the Dark!
I really love these two, and I especially love their bond with each other, and this drawing was really fun, and challenging for me to draw! I was experimenting with backgrounds, which I’m not super confident with but I think this one turned out really well! I also used the lighting to put Windpaw more in the light because Crowpaw has fallen into the darkness of his own mind and I used the drawing to reflect that.
I’m still planning out the comic, so I’m not sure when it will be starting to come out, I really hope I can start working on it within the next few months, but in the meantime, I will be doing little exerts like this so you all can get to know the characters!
Let me know any questions in the comments, and I will do my best to answer them! Though I may not answer lore ones since those will be in the comic in the future! But I can still give little hints
