I told him I am against almost all cases of abortion, in the interest of the unborn child's life. He/she took this as to meaning I am against women's right, and therefore that I hate women's rights.

There is no such thing as an unborn child, sorry to burst your bubble.
"Biologically, a child (plural: children) is a human between the stages of birth and puberty."
On top of that, the fetus isn't even aware until quite a bit into the pregnancy.
Using "unborn child" can be either:
1. Simplifyng things.
2. A way to try to make your cause look more sympathetic than it is.
Also, your opinion on male masturbation would be nice. Sperm is just as valid as "unborn children" as the fetus is before awareness.

I was simplifying things, yes. I don't care much for semantics over what is called what at what stage of gestation. It is what it is.

Not exactly. Sperm is potential life. Once conception happens, it is human life. It just hasn't formed into a cute baby yet. I still find masturbation to be immoral, but I'm not trying to legislate that so it's pointless to debate.

Because that's not what it's about. And it's not "just men" that are against abortion. It's about the life of the unborn child, not about what the mother wants to do. I'm sure you've heard this argument before, and it is pointless to debate over. I'm not even that passionate about this particular issue.
