The more you write of this series the more incredibly hilarious it gets.
And -- Buffalo Elvis? Hail to the King, baby!

Even better: buffalo Elvis voiced by Scott "Piccolo" McNeil.

So the doctor was wrong all along, and all those ponies were imprisoned in crystal for no reason.
I say again: CALLED IT.
MWA HA HA HA HA HA!
Although I am sad to see the end of the SA/Chrysalis/Candence marriage. Ah, well.

Yeah, since they weren't officially married, there is no need for a divorce. Which means she doesn't get a damn thing out of this. "LOOK MA! NO PRE-NUP!" Is something I'd imagine Shining saying when he realizes this.

Thank Celestia for Shining's derpness that night. And shame on The Doctor, not being able to tell it was just coffee poisoning and not Scott Pilgrimism. But then again, he's not a real Doctor now is he?XD

For this comic a few pages back, they looked at the rules and it said Royals had no legal power to marry anyone, so it was invalid since Celestia we'd them.XD

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure she just encased them in Crystal. Plus I think it would be more humorous if she had to let all these people go and there's this really tense awkwardness where they're all just glaring at her XD.

SFaccountant In reply to equilibrik [2013-08-10 16:58:09 +0000 UTC]
Consider how eager she is to write off Chrysalis as a casualty, I'm pretty sure she'd e happy to just leave them as they are, locked in rocks forever.
Or until auspicious circumstances set them free and then put them in a position to wreak vengeance upon the royal family for such injustice. You know, whichever.

Perhaps in form, although it would be more of a Legion of Legitimately Distressed.
But then, I like to think that's how most cartoon villains get their start. Who's to say Discord didn't start out suffering constant persecution for being a whacky chimera?

Given how fast... or slow Equestria seems to be evolving (Luna's 1'000 year old dialect sounds almost exactly like modern day equestrian.) I wouldn't be surprised if they were released into a world exactly the same. I bet Celestia crushes any new technology.
"Twilight! Scientific and magical genius, stop studying those books and machines and study ummm... friendship!"
Also:
It was quiet here, the silence was oppressive, smothering the world in a thick grey blanket almost as chocking as the layer of dust that covered everything in the room. Everything except for a small pathway across the floor, worn smooth with the passage of many hooves. The trail led to a small plinth and on that plinth a large, dark crystal. If you looked carefully into the crystal then you might see, dimly illuminated by the sparse light that was allowed into the vault, a rather surprised looking pony, trapped forever in crystal; locked into that single moment of entrapment.
You would also see, quite often, another pony, head bent by the heavy weights of sadness and the passage of decades. There to talk to a friend that could neither hear nor answer, to gaze upon somepony once known and now forever lost. The princess had had her happy ending and nothing else mattered. The unfortunate casualties had been neatly packed away, out of sight and out mind, except to those who knew them.

Well that end story made me cry...are you happy now you stupid...platypus thing?
But you've definitely got a point there with Celestia and technology I mean she's something like 3000 years old. Old people don't like new technology, hell my grandparents still use VCR.

Ziblink In reply to bronybyexception [2013-08-13 04:22:34 +0000 UTC]
I am indeed very happy. MLP is full or horrid things like that if you think about it for any length of time. Discord we know spent 1'000 years frozen in place and aware of it. That's chilling...
I figure Celestia holds back technology lest anypony think of trying newfangled things like democracy.

Ziblink In reply to NewAgeStudio [2013-08-14 04:43:11 +0000 UTC]
Why? I mean she could well have the best intentions. Think of it, if YOU ran say the USA and everyone did what you said and there was no war or poverty and for the most part people were happy and well kept, then someone said 'Hey, why don't we just let *anyone* run the country?' Would you take that as an opportunity or a threat? nearly all dictators believe or claim to believe they're acting in their country's best interests. Take Mugabe who claims he is still needed to prevent evil white people taking over, or Hugo Chavez who clung to power to continue the 'revolution'
Celestia simply feels that nopony else can be trusted with the running of Equestria and that she knows best. And with everypony kneeling before her all the time, who's going to argue?
