I'm glad season 3 started! and I'm really excited about pinkie, scootaloo (best pony?) and trixie episodes, this is gonna be good.have a comic.

I rather questioned why Celestia and Luna didn't just go give Sombra a second beatdown on his two-lines-in-as-many-episodes ass (forgive the vernacular)

Because they do not possess control of the Elements of Harmony anymore now that they have been passed down to the mane six. It's also the reason Celestia isn't gonna go do the "TO THE MOON BIATCH" routine because she needs the Elements in order to banish somepony.

I'm not sure they used the elements to defeat him though. They still possess amazing magical powers. There was no indication in the flashback that they used the elements to banish him to the frozen north
