I'll probably do a review journal of this at some point, but I'll just say that I've really enjoyed the adventure. It's flawed, sure, but I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since it's their first main series Switch game. One that builds a solid foundation for future games.

But anyway, here's my team for Shield. I was going to use 100% new Pokémon, but I like Raichu too much and... all plans crumbled from there. So from left to right:

Cinderace - I loved Scorbunny from the start, and I really liked its evolutions. Also, Pyro Ball is so good in every way.

Flygon - one of the most underrated dragon types ever, to be honest. The double weakness to Ice isn't great, but accentuate its strengths and you'll have something brilliant.

Or use Dragapult. Apparently that's really good, but it's so rare that I didn't bother with it.

Ferrothorn - Iron Barbs + Rocky Helmet and you've got a physical opponent on the ropes. Great defences, superb type, there's almost nothing wrong with it (except its double Fire weakness, but that's easy to work around).

I also recommend giving it moves that deal more damage going second to take advantage of its low speed.

Lapras - majestic, especially its Gigantimax form. In fact, it's the only one I truly sought out thanks to one of the game's exploits.

Raichu - duh .

Sure, there are better electric types, but I don't use the best Pokémon, I use my favourites. Oh, and it's been made better as you can teach it any move Pikachu would know if you evolve it at any level. Before, it only knew its base moves.

Sigilyph - Gen 5 wasn't the best if only because the stories those games told were terrible. But the one thing I appreciated is that you HAD to use Unovan Pokémon rather than using older ones as a crutch since the newer ones are so rare.

Anyway, Sigilyph is a great alternative since Alolan Raichu isn't in the game because Game Freak loves breaking hearts. It has decent Special Attack and great type coverage.
