And if you want real friendship you have to be taken at least a little seriously. I'm going to be honest, because I feel it would bean injustice to not be - regardless of how brutal this might sound. If you want REAL friends, you need to have people take you seriously otherwise all you'll be chasing is an illusion. I am not going to consider someone my friend if I cannot ever take their words seriously.
If they are, as you have been, nothing but a constant joker who never seems sincere then I simply cannot put my trust in that person. No matter how nice or great they are to have around. Because I need to be able to trust my friends, to know that they will really be there for me when I need it just as I will be there for them. I cannot afford, especially in my line of work, to have a false friend. It's why I have so few.
