Use the following code to float your images (or any element) in a custom box.

To float elements to the LEFT:

Example:

:thumb299697102:
LoremIpsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. LoremIpsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

11. How to change the color of hyperlinks?

First of all, this is an extension of the FAQ #11 given below.

So, if you know how to create hyperlinks using the HTML tag and want to change the color of your hyperlinks then follow these steps:

1) Create your desired hyperlink by using the
tag (follow FAQ #11 if you do not how to do it)
2) Take your desired text color code from
HERE (Only the colors mentioned there are available)
3) Replace the text inside the ... with the color code
4) Done!

Example:

Let your hyperlink be the following:

YOUR_CUSTOMIZED_TEXT

Now let's take the GREEN text color code from HERE (You can take any color code you want)

Here's the green text color code:

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book.

Now, replace the "YOUR_CUSTOMIZED_TEXT" with the color code as follows:

In the above example, I have just replaced the "Lorem Ipsum..." with YOUR_COLORED_TEXT for the sake of understanding.

*PLEASE NOTE you can’t use the above code to change username colors that are generated by :devUSERNAME: or @USERNAME codes.

However, you can change a USERNAME color by tweaking the above code by writing as follows:

If you haven't noticed it yet. DA always put an arrow symbol when you are trying to use an "external link" (for example a facebook.com link or a tumblr.com link) in the tag or a button code (as below).

NOTE: The arrow is displayed only when you are using an external link! It WILL NOT display the arrow if you are using a DA link. (such as a link to someone's profile page in DA or a deviation link etc.)

The simple solution to get rid of that is by pre-fixing the below URL in your
tag or a button code URL:

BUTTON CODE:

Hi  -
I've been struggling for days now to get one full image/thumb into a custom box.
But what ever code i use it always shrinks to a small size , ex :
I tried different widths , codes, but it seems like i can't get a full size image what ever i try.

Ventus-Fall In reply to Stereozilla [2015-02-15 11:22:32 +0000 UTC]

Hey, have you already just simply tried out the :bigthumb####:  code?

Stereozilla In reply to Ventus-Fall [2015-02-15 16:22:32 +0000 UTC]

Yes i have..
Now i can't even use the code anymore.
Even if i try to put an image/gif into my webcam , it just dissapears with the "broken image" link

Ventus-Fall In reply to Stereozilla [2015-02-16 09:09:29 +0000 UTC]

Ok, let me try and see if this works:
(I've selected one of your drawings, hope that's ok )
This happens immediately when I copy the link given under the Details section of your piece:
And this when I copy the thumb:

Show me what happens when you post the link and/or thumb code in the reply post.

The need to use the tag isn't necessary anymore I've noticed for a long time, at least, not on deviantArt. You can just copy the link or thumb code, post it in the comment-section, and it should show up.
But if that doesn't work (either) than just reply with  what you've tried at least, so i can see what's going wrong

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Stereozilla In reply to Ventus-Fall [2015-02-16 13:03:19 +0000 UTC]

The problem isn't with posting :thumb: images ;
The problem is , that suddenly i can't use the < img > code anymore, and if i try to post a thumb , big size or small, the size won't show up.
As in:

or

The images always shrink to this basic size, what ever size/height/width i try. D:
I want to put a full image/background/ inside my custom boxes, but what ever  i seem to try it jus won't work, i can't add custom sized images.
Example:

(i've tried every size possible, it will still give me the ugly borders and shrunk image )
what i would like to get:  (example) The image covers the whole custom box

Ventus-Fall In reply to Stereozilla [2015-02-16 15:32:00 +0000 UTC]

Ahh, I see, in that case you shouldn't work with the img tag or such, but with div tags.
I believe this user also has a tutorial on that, want me to look it up for you?

That may just be because the webcam widget was discontinued c:

Discontinued?

Yeah, the webcam widget no longer works - the only alternative is custom boxes. c: There was an update about it a while back.

Orly? What do you put in?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Stereozilla In reply to Horsepoint [2015-02-17 20:34:59 +0000 UTC]

the < src img > code, but what ever image i put in, it's always a small size.
even the : big thumb: won't do

Horsepoint In reply to Stereozilla [2015-02-17 20:40:39 +0000 UTC]

Hmm O.o Just checking, but you know it's the other way round, right? < img src="etc" />? The fact that bigthumb won't work is odd though. Tried this? If you put the pixel width you want instead of 500 and the image ID in the other slot (the numbers in the thumbcode) it should work?

Stereozilla In reply to Horsepoint [2015-02-18 15:26:13 +0000 UTC]

Nope.. the size stays the same ( small )
Like so: gyazo.com/b82a25d7f431d219cc7a…
I just can't seem to get bigger sizes , any image i try it's always going to come out this small size

Horsepoint In reply to Stereozilla [2015-02-18 23:32:46 +0000 UTC]

That's not small! xD That's probably because the max content width in a custom box is 400px - you'll want to use the custom box background image tutorials if you want it any bigger.

...We're literally commenting on one. xD Try number 9 on this deviation.

Stereozilla In reply to Horsepoint [2015-02-19 17:20:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, they don't work.
The size remains the same, even if i increase it from 500 to 600 or any other size.
The size remains 400 (i think, it's a small size anyway)

...And you're using

div>div> ? Where URL is the URL of the (large size) image?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Stereozilla In reply to Horsepoint [2015-02-19 17:39:37 +0000 UTC]

If i use this it will appear as a background for the custom box, i just need something like a featured deviation, but since i can't get a full size there either (the 900x px bug) i tried using a custom box to feature a large view of a deviation, but what ever i use it doesn't work.

Horsepoint In reply to Stereozilla [2015-02-19 17:46:44 +0000 UTC]

Well yes, that's what I said; I don't know if there's currently a workaround for extending the size of custom boxes properly - I believe there used to be, but the current working ones makes it wonky as far as I know - so making it the box background would be the best solution because you can make it as big as you like. If you're dead set against that, search dA for "wider custom box" and see if anything works.

Yeah well that code works welll but the only problem is
gyazo.com/1fbf16fbbcf42fe1501d… THIS XD
like there should be something under the background to make the box bigger so the image would show
so confusing

Yeeeah, you might need to put in
breaks...I think before the code? And I mean quite a loooot. It's an odd one xD Jam in a bunch one after another and then play around with how many you need.
