did you use a marco lens? and if so, how close did you get? (because I'm not sure if I'd dare to get really close to one myself )

anyway, awesome colors and sharpness on the face. I'm very much impressed.

At twice life size (the magnification of this shot) the front of the lens is about 2.5" from the wasp (~6.3cm).
