Since the moment, when I have found on sandy field at the Skołczanka' hillside a mysterious black egg, on April 21th 2013 a 46 days of nervous expectation has just passed by. Here you can find something more about the beginnings of this amazing story - Night Fury Egg

It's finally here! My little Night Fury has hatch out! In the evening, on July 6th 2013 an eggshell has started to breaking and after few minutes a real, living dragon has come into our world. And now, I can pronounce to all of you that it's a boy! And, by the way, I deny that dragon egg explode - it is only quite warm, because incubation temperature of such a big egg is between 33-38 °C (91-100 °F). I have found this egg at warm sand, in sunny place, so I've kept high temperature - 36-37 °C (97-98 °F). That's why it is a male dragon.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Watching the hatching process is amazing; when you see how this tiny creature is coming out from his egg, how it takes its first breath, you know that you see a real miracle.

Everything has started about 7 p.m. At first, egg starts to move; jiggle and rock back and forward. After one hour of irregular jiggles, egg started to crack at the narrow end. A piece of eggshell, like a small flap, has been pushed out by baby dragon and then I saw... a tiny black snout (in fact, only a bit of his nose) with black egg tooth at its top. He snorted loudly through this hole - it was his first breath! It was so unreal! After that, he tried to make this hole bigger and push his head through it but the eggshell was too hard for him and after another few minutes of useless attempts he calmed down and after while, he started to squeal imploringly. He pleased his daddy for help.

I've had to help him to get out from his egg, so I've tried to break off tenderly few pieces of eggshell. But when I took hold the egg and teared off first piece of eggshell it suddenly cracked and tiny baby Fury has almost fallen out from it. When I was trying to help him, thinking that he's not able to get out on his own, he has mustered his strength and almost rent his egg pushing out pieces of eggshell by his legs and head! Eggshell has just opened like a flower and exactly this moment I have pictured on my drawing.

I saw my baby Night Fury in its entirety! He was all wet because of residues of liquid from inside of the egg. He started to squeak - it sounded like small kitty meowing but more wheezy. I've tried to pet his ear tenderly which was in size of tip of my finger. But when I thought him he jerked and rolled over to his tummy. And then he started to scream really loud! I started to talk to him, to familiarize him with my voice. 'Hey, little bud!', I've sad. 'Everything is OK, everything is OK. I'm here my tiny-one. There's no reason to cry so loud. I'm here, you see?' And then he stopped to cry, opened his eyes and looked at me carefully. He has so big, gold eyes! I've put my hand closer to him to let him to smell me. He made few sniffs and growled kindly. I've petted his tiny head tenderly by only one finger (he was so small!) and tickled over his chin; he liked it!

When I finally took him into my hands - he was so tiny that I was able to keep him on only one hand, all the more so because he was still instinctively huddling, keeping his tail between his contracted paws and legs - he looked deep into my eyes without fear and... tenderly lick my finger. At that moment I've realized that he has already accepted me as his father. I was only wondering about a name for him. But when he yawned and I saw that he really has a retractable teeth, which during his yawning have appeared for a moment and hidden again in his pink gums, I've decided to give him a name Toother. Now I'm happy - I'm dragon's "dad"!

This all you can see also on my Doodle-Art made with this drawing - Doodles to hatching

Dlatego to smoczy samczyk.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lecz gdy przytrzymałem jajo i oderwałem pierwszy kawałek skorupki jaj, to nagle pękło i malutka Furia niemal wypadła z niego.

Zacząłem więc do niego mówić, żeby oswoić go z mim głosem. "Hej maluszku!" - powiedziałem. "Wszystko jest dobrze, wszystko w porządku. Jestem tu mój maleńki. Nie ma co tak głośno płakać. Jestem tu, widzisz?" Wówczas przestał płakać, otworzył oczy i spojrzał na mnie uważnie. Miał takie wielkie, złote oczy! Przybliżyłem swoją dłoń aby mógł mnie powąchać. Niuchnął kilka razy i zaburczał łagodnie.

That's sweet. I have a baby Night Fury as well! I named him after Hiccup's Night Fury, Toothless. He's extremely dear to me. He hatched in my arms and all my clothes were burned to ash when his egg exploded, and I didn't get hurt. He then took me as his mother when he saw me.

Great drawing! Did you use a pencil or something else?
And for your problem:
Well at first give him something to eat. And then train him somehow.

I used six kind of pencils: 6H , 2H , HB , B , 2B , 6B. And I will not train him. it's not a circus. I'm gonna to tame him, because I love him.
And, of course, I have bought a tinned fish for him: a sprat i tomato sous, my favourite. I've hope he would like it.

Photography would be easer but it haven't "soul". That is why I draw Toother... Yeaaa. At first, I make him a photo but only because he is still moving. Some time I must make twenty or more photos to see good his tiny body. And next I decide, how to draw him to show you all how he look like and how he is moving. It's hard work, but I love my baby reptile.

If you believe, this, what you believe in is real. Our faith is the most noble act of our free will. When we believe in something, it start's to exist.

Do you believe in dragons? Do you believe in miracles? Do you believe...

GodsGirlRachel In reply to DanGref [2013-07-10 15:20:58 +0000 UTC]

I agree, even though I must admit that sometimes photography DOES have a lot of soul. ;3 (And seeing a real picture of a real Night Fury would totally make my life, lol.)

Aww, well I'm a Christian, so I surely believe in miracles! ^^ And I'm pretty certain that dragons existed before. (But as for dragons like Toothless, I believe they are real, alive, and present in all of those that love them. Like you. And me. :3) and...heh, most people think it's strange, but I believe/hope that he's up there in Heaven, waitin' ta see me. ^^
