Amazing. One thing that I think I would have tried (if I could do that in the first place of course) would be to add some motion blur to the tongue making it look as if it's moving fast sweeping through the air!

Thank you so much for this. I learned so much following your steps to recreate this picture. Your brushes are fantastic. I never would have thought to use the chalk brush you made for something like this, but it made such a difference. As did the multiple layer effects. Wow. Too bad I can't post the result. It's probably the best piece I've ever painted.

While your painting this are you using a reference or u already know how slime and goo and reflections should look like on an alien symbiote.

but i still confuse in step 6 when make tongue..
i use chalk brush but still cannot like that,
do you change the opacity and flow .. ?
blended with smudge tool or just with chalk brush..?

For step 2, when I added the line art layer on top of the other layer with the 50% opacity, nothing showed. Can you help plz
