Description
(getting back on the commission front): Commission for for him and his Luxray, Lucain. Definitely was a hard picture to plan as i went through about 4 different revisions before being satisfied with the result.Music Used: Good Morning Kaia - BT www.youtube.com/watch?v=HuNaL7…
Other sounds edited by me.
A good amount of work went into the final result. Seemed to shape up toward the end. Thanks for everyone who did come to the stream when I did this. And thanks for the patience with the commissions. With the new stream schedule, this should go quicker.
Also, I hadn't seen many fanart pieces depicting a Lumiose City Cafe from Pokemon X/y. Decided to render it streetside, early morning, when us pokemon players peruse the Pokemon Global Trade Station (GTS) for the pokemon we want and what others are seeking. This is how I envision the system working for trainers in real life. Relaxing scene, a bit of a change as I mostly due action oriented stuff. *shrug*
Hope you like, Quinn. Also thanks for the help over these past few months. It means alot.

this is a brilliantly composed piece. i would have liked to see more moving holds instead of sway animation, but thats just me, and you did the scene and the pokemon justice nonetheless.
im sorry for being a noob, as i havent attended your LS (blame it on college), but do you use the Puppet Pin tool or something to animate this? Im pretty sure its all beautifully painted layers for each part, but how could you animate?
In any case, awesome. great job and everything in between xD

yes, i do abuse the puppet tool alot of the time when I'm not doing direct tween work, although AE crashes alot after I nest too many compositions. I wish it wouldnt do that. I do plan to do alot more LS animating in the future so when I do, be sure to pop in and I can teach you a few of the basics. Thanks again Iza

Dan,I've got to say that this has got to be your most impressive animation work so far,the little movements and expressions of the trainer and Luxray, that spinning GTS menu, the taxi passing by along with those warm, bright and glowy coloring and lighting and the detailing on the background are all just breathtaking altogether!

im surprised you like it to that extent xD. Thank you very much tony. My goal with this was to create a very immersive background focusing on more delicate environmental effects rather than 'in your face' effect work. I'm saving that for Dragonfly xD.

Looks like someone has a frequent habit of switching their Pokedex on and off somewhere in the background. XD But listening to it beeping when no other noise is playing in this animation nearly brought a tear out of my eye. Anyways, I quite like the murmuring conversations of passersby in the background; it adds a homely feel to this animation scene, along with the calming music and Wingull/Pelipper calls. Just listening to it brings back the good (and the bad) memories when I played the Pokemon series on my Gameboy.
The fact that there's a display box that's mysteriously floating right up there is quite nostalgic, cause it looks quite out-of-place in this scenic animation, but then again, who doesn't love that display box? As much as I rarely play Pokemon these days, let alone being able to pick up on the current Gen, it's nice to see that display box is still the same as it was in the 3rd Gen Pokemon series.
Lucain's (Luxray) waving tail looks quite hypnotising, given that the wave-like animation pattern runs well with Luxray's four-pointed star tail. Chandelure's flames are quite nice as well, considering that both the flames and its framework have their own individual animation pattern.
All in all, amazing work, Dan!

the display box was more of what invisioned the IRL pokemon version of a dog tag or a collar for identification of pokemon if they were out of their ball, so it floated beside the pokemon in question. Just thought it would be a cool addition.
(i'm surprised someone noticed my chandelure in there xD)
Glad you like it. definitely was a fun experience

Gotta have that good ole Pokemon game-like feel to the overall animation, eh? XD And besides, how hard can it be to not miss a Chandelure and its charming flames?
You're most welcome then, sir.

I don't think I've ever seen anything this amazing before. Keep it up.
Also, I highly doubt anyone's ever really made such an animation.

And, you sure CAN do quite a lot. I'm actually planning to commission you really soon for an animation, kinda like this one. I just need to deposit money into my PayPal account, and figure out exactly what I want. I DO have an idea, but it's going to require quite a bit of resources, and references to work with.
