Description PILSEN & THE OCCULT

I grew up in Little Village and Pilsen, which at that time, was mostly Latino, but still had a great deal of Bohemian remnants from its past.

Much of what I have to say here, can also be attributed by many neighborhoods, especially the like-minded, such a the Back-of-the-Yards and Cicero.

As a kid, like many other children, I have seen people in the neighborhood act out small, almost unnoticeable rituals.

Many of us that lived in Pilsen, if they were keen, would have noticed a lot of these tiny rituals from our parents, that came either from Pilsen's Bohemian past residents, or directly from the old world culture of Mexico.

Maybe you seen your mom place a glass of water under a baby's crib, or nail a piece of bread above the doorway.

Perhaps you seen a woman wave an egg around an expecting mother, or had witnessed visits from a woman, reading people's personal horoscopes.

Perhaps you have noticed certain symbols in store outings such as a circle with a Pentagram inside, or a pyramid with an eye in its center.

Many of Pilsen's architectural fixtures had feathered snakes carved on their edges and some of its churches sported dragons and gargoyles upon its high ridges.

Pilsen may have looked like a normal collective of cultural people from the outside, but in reality, it was full of Brujas, Palos, Santeros, Horoscopos, and Tarot Card readers.

But what did these things mean?!

IT'S ALL ABOUT PROTECTION, REVENGE, FORSEEING, & BLESSINGS

In the world of the occult every practice, activity, or spell is about four things - namely, protection, revenge, foresight, and blessings.

And, personally, in YOUR life, you must have been witness to one or more of these things, since the occult is saturated in everyone's life to some degree.

For example, you may have carried around a rabbit's foot, or collected 2-dollar bills.

These things are from a practice called "enchanted", or "charmed" objects, meaning people believe they might bring them good luck, or protection from accidents and harm.

Many believe that churches and religion are the opposite of these occult practices, but in reality, they are chock-full of them.

In Pilsen, there is a very large dominant Catholic population.

However, Catholicism is a great way to realize how ritual, symbols, and occult iconography work in unison with a person's faith.

Catholics have many, many, many, adopted and rehashed rituals form ancient times, that have little or nothing at all to do with Jesus Christ's campaign and life on earth.

These occult practices were slowly gathered into its religion through the Roman times, the Dark Ages, and the Renaissance, and is still, adopting new rituals till this day.

These are not bad things, just more ways for believers to have some sort of deed and physical connectivity to faith, which is always an invisible force.

Occultism has a great effect in our lives, and mostly, it's a positive thing, helping us to feel more safe, stable, and positive.

Three things essential in living a good life.

CAN OCCULTISM BE EVIL?

Well, the short answer to this is YES!

But mostly it's not, but how do we know if we're involved in something that's evil?

There is one SURE test that can tell you whether or not you're practicing something evil or not.

It goes like this: "If your'e hurting someone or something, when you do not NEED to, you are doing evil!"

In that case, just back away from whatever is causing you to do these things.

As a kid in the 1970's, I clearly remember seeing women take their daughters to a guy that was "stapling" their ears; meaning inserting some pin or other object in their ear, believing this to make them lose weight.

Even today this practice is used under a different name, but it is a harmful deed, that preys on the psychology of those desperate enough to believe it.

There is also a truly disturbing trend, where many "herbalists" advice people to drop their doctor's medications in the stead for their herbal treatments, each one believing these people, because they have "certificates and diplomas" from schools that teach this.

Ask any real doctor what they think of this, and you'll be advice rightly on just how bad this can be!

Of course those dealing out these herbs will argue against this, as they need the money you pay them to stay in business.

Evil does not always come into our lives by cults or occult practices, but also in social movements and trendy ideologies.

Ask yourself, has there been social movements and protests that have caused damage, pain, or death in the name of their "cause"?

Most of the time these so called "revolutions" have an outside force empowering them to do evil, but always make people seem like they're doing "the right thing".

Keep in mind that true evil preys on our fragile psyche, it slowly slithers in our being via psychology, often making people ignore their common sense, and has them do things that they would NEVER do ORDINARILY.

THE CULT OF PERSONALITY

One of the greatest tricks of evil, is to make people believe they're speaking for God.

I tell you a great truth - beware the man who claims he speaks for God, or that God speaks through him/her!

These are vessels for SICK one...and speak only for the worm, delivery only a life of misery and a sick mess to deal with when you're gone.

As is, in Pilsen I have seen some cults that use the name of God and Christ to lure in people to their perverted ideologies.

This almost always results in them becoming prisoners of their own minds.

Mormons and Jehovah's Witness, which are newly invented religions in comparison to REAL Christianity, use the Bible as a template to create their OWN Bibles, and they continuously recruit people in desperation to lure in more converts, which serve in financing their elite.

The sad truth about cults like these, is that such is their power of "imprisoning the converts in their mind" they almost never escape, and live their lives, thinking God will punish them for disobeying whatever cult or faction they fell victim to.

Any religion or cult that has you isolated, and rejecting your family, friends, and mentors unless they too, become converts, is flat out EVIL!

Stay away from them or risk being a mental prisoner of their brainwashing forever!

In the occult, we term these factions as "Soul Stealers" because they operate by controlling your soul, meaning the thing that makes you, YOU, through psychological trickery and as mentioned before, Evil ALWAYS works through psychology!

But witchcraft and other practices can be evil, too, if they invoke and demand the same rules -- Isolation from society, friends, family, and blindly not questioning their often very "questionable" odd rules.

However, in large part, witchcraft is NOT bad, but instead, a means of learning to get a better understanding or yourself in regards to nature and the wonderful reality around you.

ENJOYING THE WORLD OF THE OCCULT AND KNOWING WHAT IT MEANS

Yes, there are many dangers in the world of the occult, but that's if you fall victim to some fast talking guru, or get into a practice where they expect you to do things that hurt yourself or others.

However, the REAL purpose for the occult is searching for truth and uncovering the secrets of reality.

In fact, the word "occult", actually means to hide, or cover.

I have been studying the occult for over 38 years, and have been a warlock for just as long, though people very rarely understand what a warlock actually is and does.

But my time in Little Village and Pilsen, had made a huge impact on me, in regards to witnessing so many rules and practices done through occult means, that many of us never even recognized or questioned.

Long ago, my mother walked me to marvelous apocatheries that were hid among the backstreets of Pilsen.

Pilsen, even today, is ripe with occultism, especially those that came from Bohemian and Mexican descent.

Its streets are often lined with boutiques, featuring many trinkets from Sante Muerte, Voodoo, Hoodoo, Palo Mayumbe, Wiccans and Catholicism, as well as a host of other occult forms that either sprung from European folklore or Afro-Caribbean origins.

Pilsen continuous to be a hot mix of these great diverse collections of these cultic activities, whether based on the stars, religious ideals, or self reflection, and they continue to provide insight into those four clads that people are so adamant in harboring; Protection, Revenge, Foresight and Blessings.

The occult is truly a wonderful means to learn about the world around you, the real purpose of nature, and more importantly yourself, but if you dabble in such things, you must wear the armor of "common sense" and remember the golden rule of dispelling evil from your life - If you're hurting someone or something when you don't NEED to, you must STOP what you're doing a go back to doing the things that HELP people, NOT hurt them!

Perhaps you have a story to tell about your time in Pilsen, or whatever neighborhood you came from that may have brought you a glimpse of the occult in your life...
