Background: AJ's powers are strictly Digital. After receiving his powers from the Three Great Angels, he developed them through training with the Devas, recieving his sword - Zodiac - through which he could channel his attacks through.
More specifically, AJ was endowed with the X Antibody, giving him an immunity to magic. Only high power spells of any kind can have an effect on him.
On a side note, AJ also has a female form, a reminder of his first encounter with the Phantom Cult. It's quite possibly the only bit of magic existing inside of him.
