Everything feels different; the weight of your feet, the pain in your chest, even the smile that stretches across your face. You feel as if you have slowly been losing pieces of yourself, unceremoniously stripped away from your soul by some invisible force. You look in the mirror and on the surface, everything seems the same - but you see something has changed. You become afraid that you won’t be able to go back to the way things used to be and that you’ll be stuck like this, whatever ‘this ‘ is, forever. But overtime, you’ll slowly get used to the change. You’ll start to find pieces of yourself, tucked away in the corners of your bedroom or maybe in the glovebox compartment of your car, patiently waiting to be reunited with you. And at the end of it all, you will be okay. You will be completely okay. — d. mykel . .
