Description
The Light Explorer Class ships are 310 meters long simple design, made by using older but extremely reliable and stable technological solutions. During a particularly long war between the Septembgrad Empire and an aggressive alien species (now extinct) called Nacracite, during the lengthy war, the Empire was forced to use whatever ships they can build fast and cheap because of massive amount of resources had to be used to halt the enemy's advance the Empire used older ship designs, to save up resources for the long push, to finally end the war once and for all. Among these older ship designs were the Light Explorer Class, retired centuries ago due to newer technologies, and the need for bigger ships. The Light Explorer was used as an explorer when the Empire first started exploring other planets, it features a large cargo capacity, long range sensors, and limited weapons for self defense. The new models feature modular architecture, energy shield, more advanced reactor, sensors, communication equipment, two retractable beam canons, a slightly older generation engine but way more effective than the original one. Due to it being an older ship model, it wasn't designed to have a ton of features other than transport stuff from a to b, the newer models were used in a very similar role, mainly used as a troop, and supply transport, made using more advanced alloys than the original design it is more durable and also very easy to produce in large quantities, the Empire grew fond of this ship class due to it being a very useful, versatile, and extremely reliable transport ship, not to mention it was dirt cheap to make as far as resources concerned, it still does. This is the reason the Light Explorer Class is still in active service in the Septembgrad Navy, even civilian companies are using and building these ships. In remote far away areas these ships are extremely useful, if an outpost is far away from the supply lines of the Empire, they can still build, and field these ships in large enough numbers, to be able to defend themselves. It has became a custom to attach a large number of Light Explorer Class ships to the Empire's fleets.
