Would this R72 filter be available in any form for a consumer camcorder, do you know? I've been really engaged by the few infrared pieces I've seen on DeviantArt... never seen them before like this! Beautiful... my video art could benefit from this !

Not sure - with still photography and IR lens filters you need to use long exposures so it probably wouldnt work

Go for it - all you need is an R72 filter

Without doubt the Hoya R72 is the best filter - a cheaper alternative is the Kood R72
You need to check out whether you camera is IR sensitive or not (some DSLR have strong IR cut sheilds on the sensor and therefore dont record IR light very well - google is good to check this out)

sorry for interrupting. i've found such a lovely art on deviantart. the artist is below 10, so i would like to encourage him/her.
if you could visit his/her picture page, or give a favourite for his work. i know it's naive, but i feel that he can be a good artist
many thanks
that's the link for his picture :[link]

Well this was actually shot with a converted D80 (filter inside camera on sensor) which, because of the focal difference you get with IR light, was calibrated to a Nikkor 18-70 DX kit lens
