I love that about infrared - it has that 'shifted dimension' or 'altered perception' feel

Yeah I noticed that, more attention than a lot of DD's, kudos mate ... squares always seem to go down remarkably well on dA for some reason!

I've always found squares easy on the eye personally - and I also find them easier for composition as well. Youre quite right though - DA does seem a bit obsessed with em sometimes I just try and go with whatever I think works best when i'm editing, shot to shot.
I think what helps them here is the fact that viewers see a much larger thumbnail image when browsing the galleries than you do of a full frame image

I think you're onto something with the big thumb thing, still kinda surprises me though as surely to fav everyone opens to fullsize anyway? One of the site's minor mysteries I guess hehe.. squares were a bit of an acquired taste for me but now I've come to rather like them, I also notice they seem to have a more 'contemporary' vibe in terms of the kinds of places you tend to see them displayed, but that could just be me! My standard response for anyone who doesn't like them these days is to pretty much just direct them to `foureyes gallery and see if they feel the same after a quick browse!
