You did a GREAT job at making it look seemless and the darkness adds a gloomy mood too but, I would maybe loose the right-side bird, to put more focus on the other two. It would also balance the red a little better in the image.
But that's just a personal choice though, really. Because it really does look like you took the picture WITH the birds in it, which is always a good thing with photo manipulations. Great job!
