With how actually uninteresting most of this picture is the longer you look at it, I'm actually really pleased with the final result. It was just like, a huge experiment with mixing watercolor and pens. I decided that I wasn't going to be neat and tidy on it (which i'm usually such a whore about, usually every stroke needs to be really perfect or I go all =_-) so I just got really messy and scribbly like doom. Which was cool, since it took me about four days worth of art class (which is massively fast for me, since I am one to take my fookakering time on things and make them all whee.) This is also a pretty big picture, something like 22 by 30 inch or somewhere close to that, and I, for the most part, don't work on that big of paper, so my scarf actually fell into the paint at some point when i was leaning over it and made for a really nice effect on the hair. Also, it's much nicer of a picture in person, my camera is just a piece of crap and made it all washy-washed oot like doom.eee-blah-blah. re-tar-tar.

I think it's a very nice mix actually. Water color and pens goes together well cos you can use the pen to do the outlining and then fill it in with water colour... great work

I adore how you do -lips- of all the strange things to be drawn to...but your mouths are just.....awesome. I love how the pen and water-colors came out though... the small ...scratchy details that draw the eye much more than your..."standard" computer inked pictures. (yes I know they take time too but computer inking seems to be something -everyone- does for their outlines.) And...yeah..

heh. you're making me jealous.
anyhow, this is gorgeous. the colors are very nice, and your style translates very smoothly into the new medium. i think you should do a few more. i think the contrast is interesting-- in this medium, it's earthy and cool... in the pens it's electric and very industrial. maybe try mixing them up a bit?
this is so nice, a definite favorite.
oh, and by the way, if we meet up over break, make sure you bring some with you! i would love to see your art in person (unfortunately, i suck. so i don't really have anything spectacular to show in return)

Wow... I saw this, & I swear, a lump formed in my throat. Something about this makes me want to cry... there's some strange intensity going on here, almost like fear, with the clenched teeth & grasping hands... this figure, surrounded by urban trappings, hollowing from the inside-out...
All I can say is it's powerful. Well done.

ah god. this is so fantastic. the hands are so wonderfull and realistic but...distorted and nice. and the shading on the eyes. i just want to lick its shadowy goodness. the almost translucent effect on the body is just...nuung.

This is so much different from the usual and you seem to pull off every freaking medium people throw at you. I'm jealous. And I love the jelly-fish, white-noise like color lining... like oil on water or something, you know? And the composition you omehow always manage, with the dark here and the light there and everything in the right place. I fart in your general direction. You're mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries. Bah!
