Reference sheet for my second character from animation "Arboreal", a bunny rabbit that befriends the Tree Spirit!
I am aware that this picture is also a spoiler, but that is alright.
The rabbit doesn't really have a name yet either.

About:

The very first drawing I made of this rabbit was inspired by how my former pet bunny looked like, but I eventually decided to change it. It is supposed to be from the wild after all, though I kept the blue eyes from the old design (February 2019 ).
The white spot on its forehead is placed exactly where the "hearts" of Tree Spirits are, and it serves as sort of premonition of its fate; the rabbit dies and is reincarnated as a Tree Spirit itself.

Because of this, Tree Spirits can also be split into two more categories;

-category A: a Spirit that developed and grew with the tree, has animal-like features but doesn't explicitly resemble one animal (main character is this type)

-category B: a spirit of an animal that was reborn as a Tree Spirit, has many features of the animal it used to be and has memories of its previous life (rabbit is this type)

Trees that either develop a Tree Spirit or have reincarnated soul of an animal that becomes a Tree Spirit within them grow significantly faster than other trees, and also live much longer.
