Just a heads up this is rather my subconscious as I drew this drawing. My thoughts and experiences poured into this drawing.

February 14th a day to attempt to reach a desired one or beloved one. I put my heart and soul into people that I care for. My significant other, my friends, my family. I do anything for them. Although I do these things...... I always have this fear. What if I am doing all these sacrifices for someone who just.. is going to forget me, toss me away hurt me...leave me when I'm not needed. You give them your money, your piece of mind, your blood and sweat... and yet the factor remains you can always be discarded.... I say that because it's happened with almost everything I held dear at a point in my life. I was pathetic I cried for these people. Knuckles is gullible because he trusts people he's also protective because he's been deceived and lied to. Like Knuckles I always try to have someone as my "M.E." but I found it to never work... I protect them from all I think is wrong, fight for them, do everything in my power to make sure they are more than okay...Yet I come off as an overprotective asshole. See.. What I figured is that Knuckles Protects the M.E. partially because it's his duty but also because he knows it can never betray him... I wish to one day find that type of person that will never betray me... Who I never have to doubt... Give me peace I am looking for... I hope you guys can find that which I still seek.
