How to create an OC that fits in Tokyo Mew Mew perfectly!

IMORTANT: This is my opinion. I AM able to make mistakes. I might have overlooked something. And this guideline only tells you how to create a perfectly fitting OC. I do not intend to flame OCs that are diffrent. They still can be good. And only if they do not fit in the schemes that have been developed in the Original TMM series, it still might be possible in that universe. Who knows?

Let's start wiiiiith.... An Own Mew Mew!
Name: The human names of the Mew Mews are build of some kind of food and a color. (Ichigo (Strawberry) Momo(Pink)miya(Palace), Retasu (Lettuce) Midori(Green)Kawa(River). You get it?)
Get a japanese dictionary  and look up some food and a color and you have the basics! It would be great if you added some word to the color in the last name, like the „Miya(Palace)" in Momomiya. But it's not necessary as Ringo Akai(Red) shows. Still, I do not accept Ringo and Berry fully, I'll discuss them seperately in each topic.
Berry though has a perfect Mew Mew name. Berry Shira(White)yuki(Snow).
If you have trouble finding such a name, you can always ask me and my dictionary. I will gladly help you.

Mew Mew Name: The Mew Mew name should simply be „Mew [Insert  first name here]".  Nothing else. Only this name, only food.
Mew Crystal and Mew Moon or something like that do NOT work, if you want to fit in  the original TMM group.

Transformation Phrase: Mew Mew [Name] Methamorphosis! Better no translate your characters name in the English language. Most foodwords sound English anyway. I am aware of the fact that Ichigo shouts „Mew Mew Strawberry", but she's the leader. Better do not make your girl the leader, if you don't want to attract haters.
(Though maybe Zakuro only says „Zakuro" since „Pomegranate" doesn't sound nice. And the other names sound English anyway,  so feel free to translate, it's not a huge mistake)

Attack: Ribon [Name] [Word of your choice]! That's it basically. Though here is a something weird in the TMM anime. While everybody uses this scheme, Purin says „Ribon Pudding RING Inferno". I can't explain why she has two words there and it bothers me...
For the word of choice basically everything works as long as it's one word and not used by another Mew already.
Berry is diffrent here, shouting „Ribon Loveberry Check" which is both... copied from Ichigo and special because she says „Loveberry" not „Berry". It doesn't seem natural that way, I wouldn't recommend stuff like that.

Weapon: You can be creative here. A Mew Mew Weapon can be basically anything. It just has to have that pink heart with a red Mew Mew sign on it somewhere. If you don't remember what it looks like, look at the TMM Mew weapons again. For a name just say „[Name] [Description of what the weapon is]". Exeption here is Ichigo, since the Strawberry Bell didn't even have a bell at first... Oh... well.

D.N.A: Search for animals that are actually in danger. Do it, seriously. It can take a while, I know, but it's necessary. Definitly. Don't just say „Dog", a dog is not in danger and there are many kinds of dogs. Who knows, maybe there is one kind  in danger? Be careful with the research here!
I wouldn't recommend specials like „transformates with the help of Mew Aqua" like Ringo does or two animals like Berry has. It makes your character Sue-ish.

Powers: Getting the ears of your animal when you're human like Ichigo does is fine. But don't just invent powers a Mew doesn't have. They can have a few special abilities like „can smell very well" if their animal has that ability, but nothing more. No supernatural healing for example. Just superhuman stuff like running fast, jumping high, strong. Like the other Mews have.
TMM has a pseudo-scientific background. There's no real magic in the series, therefore your character can NOT use it.
And don't be stronger than the strongest characters (Deep Blue, Ichigo etc.) from the series. That's sue-ish. Usual Mews are cool already, so why want something more?

Personality: I won't give you much advice here, that's your problem and hopefully one you will take care of glady. But maybe you will want to regard a few things. TMM is a show that can be watched by children. So if you wanna fit in your character has not had a past full of sex &crime and also does not swear too much. She isn't too insane as Mews are kind of role-models. If you want somebody insane, maybe you'd better choose an alien?

Relationships: Just one thing here: Don't let your characters be too close to canon characters. That's sue-ish and if you wanna RP your OC it may cause difficulties with the canon characters player. So: Your OC can be visiting Cafè Mew Mew often, but she is not Ryo's best friend, alright?

Can I have a male Mew? That's possible. Mews are chosen because their genetics fit the D.N.A. It could happen to a guy. GO FOR IT!

OUTFIT: The most difficult point. She has to have the thing around the neck, like all Mews have with the pendant on it. You know that. That's easy.
Then she has to have the same thing (without pendant, lol) around her left leg. Ichigo has it on her right, but then again.. she's the leader. Leaders have specials.
Then the same things only veeeery poofy around the arms. That's easy, too.
For the rest... There are some similarities between the canon Mew's outfits, but I can't describe them well and they aren't necessary. But if you want to be perfect just watch the Mews carefully and then think about your clothes.
Also the colours: The outfits are two-colored. One color for the main stuff, the other for the plushie things. Often the colors are two shades of the same color, but they can be different. They simply shouldn't look odd together.
If possible choose a color that isn't already taken as the main (*cough*black*cough*).
Also your hair-color should be the same as your main-color or at least similar. And the hairstyle shouldn't change too much from what it's like when your OC is human.

For an Own ALIEN:
Name: Food. Something that you can bake is prefered (Kisshu=Quiche, Paiie, Gatoo=Cake....). But since Purin also isn't a fruit and still is a Mew, I think you can chose every kind of food.

Outfit: Ribbons. Ribbons, ribbons, ribbons. Okay not that extreme. That was just me rambling.
But there have to be two long ribbons at the backside of the pants/skirt. And ribbons in the hair or on the arms and legs aren't bad either.
Also alien clothes are mostly two-colored with a different color for the ribbons. Aliens wear calm colors in dark shades. Nothing bright, like Mews wear.
Also the aliens have creative hair-styles, often featuring... ribbons, yeah, you guessed it.
Relationships: Same as for Mew Mews.
Backstory: Just keep in mind that they had a tough past on their planet. So you can have more bloodshet here than with the Mews.

And some last words: Human OCs should be treated like Mew Mews, just without all the Mewish stuff... Uhm yeah.

Generally, pay attention to your characters personality, make them unique and not Sue-ish... Well, there are other guidelines for that.
