This could very possibly be the hardest thing I've drawn yet - the veins, the tack, the sweaty hide... it took me almost 24 straight hours. *whew* I think the end result is worth it, though.

Thanks! Well, not really; I just started with a really hard pencil, and then worked my way down to an 8B. In other words, lots of layers.
