Description
[link] <-- Sketch pageFun Fact: Scorch is based off of a friend from middle school, Colin Bartel. He was a very, very nice person who did a lot of great things for me, so in thanks I drew him this character one day. I tried to make it as "cool" as possible. To this day, I love the colour scheme.
Fun Fact II: Xia was a product of *UtaArashi ... I think. I remember the little fox coming up in a Gaia-based role play we were doing. The name originally belonged to a character I had made with backwards hands, but that character was quickly scrapped.
Fun Fact III: Rosco exists for the sole purpose of being named Rosco. Rusty is a similar case, though his design was first inspired by Beast Boy from Teen Titans.
Fun Fact IV: GP is based on Lurkers from the Jak and Daxter series by Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog was, at the time, my favourite gaming company, and I had bought anything and everything video-game-wise that they offered to sell if I could. The only strategy guides I EVER purchased were for Crash Bandicoot 3, and Crash Team Racing - and not even for the strategy. I bought them for the art and the humorous commentary. Also, "GP" stands for "Guinea Pig" because this would mark the first time I have used slavery as a character building concept.
Fun Fact V: Brier is named after a city area in the Northern Seattle rural areas, and is based on the D&D 3.5 prestige class "Drunken Monk".
Fun Fact VI: Creed was originally intended to be a fursona. Now, the only time he represents me is when I draw him next to my signature.
Fun Fact VII: Tod's original incarnation was strongly inspired by Jhonen Vasquez' early works on Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and Squee!.
Fun Fact VIII: Zen was originally conceptualised on the phone with ~FoxBandit when I asked the question, "You know how Tolkein's elves aren't affected by alcohol? Does that mean they're immune to alcoholism?"
Yelizaveta Rydz; Human - Her name that she goes by is "Liza", and my chicken, Liza, was named after her. She was Klaus' girlfriend in high school, and was quite intent on living the rest of her life with him. When it became apparent that Klaus was going to be taken away from his family, she asked him for a gift to remember him by: a child. Klaus was reluctant, and has kept the whole ordeal quite hush-hush to keep from anyone trying to hunt her down, too, but dreading the end of his own life, he gave in and gave her whatever he could before being taken away. Liza gave birth to Nicholaus after Klaus was kidnapped from his family, and has since moved on, believing Klaus to be dead. She has spent most of her time raising Nicholaus by herself, but recently she's acquired a potential suitor.
Nicholaus Rydz; Human - Nicholaus is Klaus' son, though the two have only met briefly, and very, very recently. Nicholaus didn't even know that Klaus was his father when they first met. It wasn't intended to be kept a secret, but no one quite addressed the matter when Klaus turned up on the doorstep one day to offer Liza compensation for all the time he had been gone. He left without a promise to come back, only saying that the time is not right and too dangerous for all of them for him to make any definite plans. Needless to say, Nicholaus was very, very confused, and it wasn't until Klaus left that he asked, "Mum... who was that?"
Shana Vakcuz; Drow - Shana is Elizer's wife, and Elijah's mother. Shana is the eldest of Draik and LaShana's children, and due to exceptionally strange circumstances, has become the heir for the Vakcuz estate. The strange circumstance in question is Elizer's lack of family name, so when they wed, Elizer took on her family name, thus making her the eldest Vakcuz heir of the youngest generation since she was able to keep her family name. Unintentionally, mind you!
Scorch; Spirit - Scorch is another of Skeeter's allies. He's more of a guardian than an active-duty soldier, but any change to spread Light, he'll take it.
Xia; Fox ( Altered ) - We've seen and heard all about the Earth Military's genetics alteration programme's work on humans. Well, here's a non-human experiment on controlling pigmentation.
Rosco; Lukiria - Rosco was made to fit the "punk rocker" role a long, long time ago. I haven’t worked with this character much since then.
Rusty Kessler; Human ( shape-shifter ) - Rusty is a shape-shifter, and this is his favourite form. His grandfather is an "old-school" shaman, and has taught him the ways of manipulating one's environment to gain and change shape.
GP; Kujunja - GP was offered to the Brooks family as a gift when GP was an infant. Those offering him as a gift called him a "pet", but the reality is that they were slave traders. However, slave-trade is a rather hush-hush business, so no one quite talks about it openly. GP was taken in and became fast friends with Rodney, who has since taken over "legal custody" of GP, but treats him as a close friend instead. Still, GP takes on cleaning the house and other servant-like duties simply because he can. Rodney has chosen not to argue with the decision since it seems to keep GP happy.
Versc NoAir; Earthen Elf - Versc is a Gatherer, and specialises in magic of the air variety. Only Gatherers may use magic in elven society, but even their use is a secret and seldom talked about. Versc was orphaned at a young age, and tradition dictates that orphaned elves are to be taken to the Gatherers if not taken in my a family member. As such, the Gatherers themselves are a kind of large, commune-like family.
Brier Forsythe; Wanaik - If we're to be frank, Brier is a hobo. He spends most of his time drinking and fighting. When his parents had had enough of his layabout ways, they sent him to a monastery, but after years without much improvement, Brier was eventually ousted from the monastery, too, for being caught drunk too many times. Side note: Elves, due to their long lives, have a function within their body that when a tooth is lost or damaged, a new one begins formation, so even when they do lose teeth, they're eventually replaced.
Creed Rattcliff; Lukiria - Creed is one of the first products of the genetic alteration programme on Lopezz. He was not created entirely artificially, but rather simply by a process of artificial insemination such as is practised today on Earth simply to see if Lukiria biology worked in enough of the same ways as humans to be compatible with such experiments.
Tod; Ghoul - Tod is a ghoul not because he was a bad person in life, but because due to the traumatic way he died, he has not been able to move on from it. When he died, his ascension from life to death was halted somewhere in the middle when the emotional stress of the situation became too much and he was not able to move on any further. He tags along with Skeeter more often than not, but otherwise feels extremely vulnerable and scared, and thus sticks to his hiding places.
Eduard; Drow X Vampire - Eduard's parents were killed in a fire, though he was much too young to remember anything about it. For as long as he can remember, he's been living with his uncle in the abandoned Theatre House that his uncle had made by hand with a friend a very, very long time ago. Eduard does not know his rightful last name, and his uncle was not familiar enough with his father to know it, either. After growing up with his uncle, and making the theatre house his own, as well as watching the abandoned town become settled, and the Theatre House be bought and subsequently abandoned several times, Eduard's uncle disappeared one day, leaving Eduard alone in the House, and to tend to the forest surrounding it. Eduard has become both a guardian of the forest since then, and a good friend of Schroeder's, who has been the most permanent occupant yet, and has helped pull the House out of disrepair back into a full functional theatre.
Lylach FallPaw; Earthen Elf - Lylach is Zen, Russell, and Akida's mother, and Lucious' wife. Her sister is Rosa, who married Jack quite some time after Lylach married Lucious, but Rosa had met Jack through Lylach's visits to the FallPaw house. Now she is proudly the head of her own family. Lylach is one of those people that you feel like you can trust no matter what. All she really wants to do is be a mother, and love everyone around her. Incidentally, this is probably the first time that I really captured how I see her in my mind!
Vip Rattcliff; Lukiria - Vip is Creed's adoptive father, and Joadi's mate. Life hasn't been wonderful to him, and sometimes he's pretty bashful and timid, but he's begun to creep out of his shell in recent years.
Zen FallPaw; Earthen Elf - I think Zen is probably my most iconic and recognisable character. Most people seem to know who he is, if they know my characters at all. He's timid and scared, a PoW, veteran, and perhaps most notable, an alcoholic. Recently, it would seem his mind just kind of shut off, and he's been little more than a vegetable, and Russell has been taking care of him in that time. Zen struggled to keep hold of himself for years, but it would seem all of the trauma and horror has finally caught up with him. I noticed for awhile that each time I drew him, he was gaunter and gaunter.
Kotier; Vampire - Kotier is another one of my characters that people seem to recognise and attach to right away. He's fairly ruthless, and seems to only care about his own well-being, but he also believes that a bit of blood on the hands is good for the soul, and strongly encourages the activity of blood sport to his children and peers. He, in fact, spent several years tormenting Elizer when Elizer chose to abandon his parents and live in the civilised world, until Elizer met Kotier's challenge for a duel, and won. I think it goes without saying that the Vakcuz's living room was redecorated with a red-brown splotchy theme.
Mark; Zuli - Alright, all four of these next ones are actually all grouped together Lombaki is their mother, and they were all four born to the same litter. Zuli are a race similar to Kokobria, and they can breed with Kokobria, they just have longer, pointier ears, thinner tails, and they're sometimes seen with spines on their backs. These characters haven't been invested in very much or developed, though I think I can at least give a short synopsis of each? Let's try this... Mark is the brainy one.
Gypsi; Zuli - Gypsi is charismatic and good with words and making her point.
Skwi; Zuli - Skwi is very timid and tends to let his siblings do more of the social work, though he'll help with quiet activities.
Emory; Kokobria - Emory is cute. That's all there is to her, she's just adorable.

"Earth Military" was an idea I piggy-backed and warped over time that originated with ~nnys-daughter
