High resolution sprites of Goompa, a friendly Goomba character from Paper Mario 64.

During Mario's arrival to Goomba Village, this wise and experienced Goomba was busy fixing the porch with his Hammer. Unfortunately, the porch gave out, something Mario learned the hard way. Mario eventually finds Goompa, and the elder teaches him the ropes in turn-based combat on the trip back.

Later, Mario learns that Goompa is a friend of Koopa Koot and Bootler. They were and are such good friends, Koopa Koot leant Goompa a Tape with contents THAT MARIO IS NOT ALLOWED TO KNOW THE CONTENTS OF.
