This is the author in the poem trying to come up with ideas. He has nothing to write at first, which is represented by the blank page. The clock and the moon represent the passage of time spent on his train of thought. The poet compares the writer's imagination to the fox and his trials with a hunter, which is represented in the thought bubble. The writer's hair is the same color as the hunter's because I think that even though the imagination of the writer is separate, you can still remember and imagine past events.
