Description This is an installation piece I did for a contemporary art theory class. It was my first solo installation, and I thought I wasn't going to like installation art at all, but I did. I would definitely have done it differently though if I had had more time to work on it and to set it up.

My idea is basically showing three stages of life/maturation. First we are innocent, pure, and idealistic, represented in the far left scene with white. Next we begin to become disillusioned, shown in the middle scene with gray. Last we are broken, shown in the far right scene with black.

My materials include plastic masks, plaster hands, balloons, ribbon, helium, mirrors, lights, window frames/screens, caution tape, wooden stars and squares, acrylic paint, gaffer tape, clear packing tape, fishing line, extension cords, and I don't think I left anything out. The space was in the room where my class met.
