Description
OK, so I decided that building half of a symmetrical suit of armor was somewhat below the full potential of my patterns. Instead of just seeing it as bits and pieces, with half in some places, and all in others, I just went all in and built a full suit of paper Torva. I wanted to see how the armor would look when finished, but since it's paper, it doesn't hold the shape quite like steel. So, it gives me a great idea of if my patterns will work or not, but as you can see, it's a little flatter than it normally would be, since the weight of the paper parts is pulling them out of the proper shape.Lots of improvements over the old design in these patterns:
* Altered the platebody to allow much better movement, and resized certain parts for a better tapered look, and smoothed edges to reduce paint scraping off.
* Shoulders are two parts now, and designed to fit at the proper angle (not just straight up and down).
* Neck region was expanded for comfort, and to make it easier to get into.
* Tassets were given a more curved shape than before, and slightly altered to be more symmetrical.
* Cod piece is solid this time, instead of chain mail. It will be attached by two loose fitting screws to allow it to sort of sway as you walk.
* Upper leg plates are slightly longer, have better shaped backs, are better suited for hinges, and will connect much better than the previous design.
* Lower legs are completely redrawn. This version allows a better fit when wearing boots, more accurate look, and smaller parts to use less metal, with a sturdier construction. You can't really see them very well in this picture, so I'll most likely post a new one later to give a better view.
* Lower legs (knee plates) have been resized and given thicker edges for a more 3-dimentional look.
More to come,
