I'm loving this piece of your description: "Influences: Nature: Ain't it obvious, trees, animals etc." lol

But anyway, the picture: blindingly colourful, which looks just stunning. Marvelous work with detail, all the animals are easily recognisable. Good contrast between the mad front and darker, calmer back. It most surely tells some story, which you gotta figure out for yourself. Plus, I don't know if you meant it to be so, but the pic goes (from front to back): animals/nature - people - culture. People as a link between nature and cultrure...

devouredex In reply to kbrandt [2006-09-15 20:45:54 +0000 UTC]

lol. When i create a piece, i have a set story in mind, but i try not to mention too much as i like the viewer to pull from it what they see, its interesting to see the different ideas people have about the surroundings in this piece. Some could say it partially goes in order of the creation chain, others could say it represents a time once talked about in which people and animals, even the wildest of them lived together without trouble. It could represent a fictional time, or a factual time frame. Thank you very much for the support, very much appreciated.

No problem. And that's what I like about your pictures - they look kinda mystriously, making me almost tingle with excitement what I'm gonna see. (yes, call me crazy) But still, I'm studying literature and like interpretating things.

thank you very much. I think the skin colouration was probably the most tricky part of it. i was worried it would come out too orange or yellow through scanning. Thank you very much for the favourite too

yea, i had no choice put to hide its face, i atempted to create it several times, but for some reason, due to the size of its face in the image and the extent of the facial patterns i could assume, i couldnt get it right. So i hid it to make it look a little more sneeky. Thank you once again for the comment

I love this, this is very creative and colorful. Using the amazon as a feature is definitely a thumbs up with me, because it shows diversity and a lot of color, which you are showing me with this piece. I like the way you connected the people to the vines and make it flow so smoothly without it seeming unrealistic, and it realy portrays a primitive feel. Keep up the fantastic work! I really love it!

Ah man!
Your pieces are so in-depth, and thats only half the reason why they are so good to admire! I know you weren't particularily going for a Macabre look, but even so, the trees give me a great sense of unease - they seem to be oozing down the sides of the canvas - it looks like it even has limbs!

I like the inclusions of animals and plants in the this piece - especially the way they interact with the surroundings.

One las thing - great job on your descriptions, I love being able to actually read into a picture without it being totally spoonfed to be...that and the fact that so many artists don't give a damn about mentioning anything in the "description" box.

thank you very much for this in-depth comment. Yea i dont like leaving the box clear, that tends to be confusing when i see that. Yea i tried to stay within a dark atmosphere, i think the tribal people and the background structures help with this effect. thank you very much once again
