sigh... i've noticed that there is always one of these types of pictures in the DD section: sexy girl, my little pony, manga/anime, and fanart. I guess those are just popular.

I see a HUGE variety of things on the DD, go look at todays DD, there are plenty of mixes. You're only focusing on what bothers you, which isn't healthy. It's okay! It happen to me sometimes! I look at something like a selection of movies and I'm like WHAT!?! GRRR! All these are stupid and boring! (there is only like 2 stupid boring movies out of 20) xD I just have to remind myself to look around. >.< For some reason, it's so much easier to see what you don't like.

This is a very nice photo, I have to admit, but the DDs have lately been pissing me off more and more everytime I see this particular type of DD.
Fanart itself isn't bad and neither is manga/anime or my little pony, but what really pisses me off is the sexy girl DDs. Not because they're half-naked woman, but because they are small, skinny half-naked women.
If there was a picture of a plus-sized, half-naked woman on here, she wouldn't get comments of praise of how pretty she looks, but harassing insults about how 'fat' or 'ugly' she is. I have nothing against skinny people, but its not fair that being a damn twig or a muscular hunk are the two favored body-types.
And even if there was a plus-sized, half-naked woman on here, people would probably only accept her because she didn't have stretch marks or a double chin, just some extra junk to her ass and breasts. It annoys me how 'fat' or 'ugly' people are not beautiful, because most of the time, the 'ugly' or 'fat' people are the most beautiful people on the inside, while the so-called 'beautiful' people are complete, ugly little snobs on the inside.

Size has nothing to do with what gets featured.
There just tends to be more slim models than bigger ones.Β
But, add 100 pounds to the girl in this photo, I don't believe it would have the same effect.

I think the bigger models are scared to try because many people shoot them down simply cause they weren't 'pretty' enough. And I'm not talking about the models with alittle big of extra muffin top. I'm talking about the ones who actually are XXL in sizes, maybe even XXXL.

Actually I see more people picking on thinner women than bigger. Every time a skinny girls gets featured she gets told to eat more, she has anorexia, she is a whore, she didn't deserve a DD, etc. I am sick of people picking on anyone of any body type.

This is a terribly hurtful and horribly judgmental thing to say. You just tossed any respect I may have had for you. :/ If this is how you think, then maybe you are one of those ugly snob people on the inside. I've met plenty of wonderful people of many shapes and sizes. Hell I've met thin, beautiful people who had more of a heart than you from what you just said.

Yet, overweight people are told to starve themselves, that they're fat lards that'll never get a single date, and that the world would be better off without them. Also, that woman isn't perfectly skinny, no, but she's not what I consider fat either.
And I'm sorry, that did sound really harsh. It wasn't supposed to sound THAT rude, but then again, from the kind of people I had to deal with, that statement has been true for me for many years. It seemed that pretty girls were always such rude snobs to me and I found that their personality made them ugly. But you are right! There are some thin people who are pretty, both inside and out, and same goes for overweight people.

It goes both ways, in fact, EVERYONE is criticized and judged no matter what. Often times, a pretty person will be looked and people will think she is an idiot, no brains at all and "easy". I think we should all stop bullying each other at all. >.< Skinny, fat, chubby, twiggy, who cares? It's never right no matter what.
I can forgive you, you've probably been really hurt by people in the past and I understand. When I was bullied in school I would sort of generalize too, and be more shy/withdrawn to talk to people who resembled the types of people who bullied me. Actually my biggest bully back in the day was a bigger girl, she beat me up all the time, but I had so many bigger friends who were wonderful that I never had a generalization against bigger people. (in fact I was usually more attracted to chubbier guys. xD) Anyways, I am sorry for what you've gone through! I really hope that things look up for you in life and you find some happiness! I struggled with image issues for awhile, not because of the media, but because of people I loved.

I was always bullied by skinnier people and it made me so angry, because I once finally fought back and asked 'Why do you hate me so much?' And their response was 'Because you're so fat and ugly!'. That's not right to make fun of someone just because they're bigger than you. After moving around after a long time, I finally settled down in one state and this tiny group of girls [mostly made of 'skinny' girls] were friendly to me and it took me almost a whole school year to completely open up to them, because I was convinced they'd turn on me any minute because I was heavier than them, but they turned out being my best friends for almost 3 1/2 years. Still, it's hard to shake that image that 'prettier, skinnier' girls are actually really mean and rude when you get past their pretty face.
Luckily for me, I'm starting to finally look in the mirror and think 'I actually look okay today', so I've been making progress, yay!

I really love your ideas... If I saw a picture of someone who wasn't exactly perfect getting a DD, I would favorite that right away. Those kinds of things hit straight to my heart and really have an impact on me, artistically and emotionally. I think the deviantart community is good enough that, if such a picture had a DD, there would not be many comments that said the girl was fat or ugly.
I hadn't really thought about it until you posted this reply... It really has just been the "hot" girls who get DDs. Well, hopefully one day there will be more variety in the choice of DDs. Β

yeah... i always see that... the DDs can be a bit disappointing to me a lot of times, there are just a few that are really great works of art. just my opinion. maybe they should have more variety in their volunteers

What you guys fail to understand here is that just like you have certain tastes in what is deemed "DD worthy", the CVs have their own tastes too...
But still, even if you don't like the feature. Why do you feel the need to comment? You just contribute to popularity of the photo. What everybody fails to realize is that a DD is nothing more than a feature. It's not a prestigious award for making super good art but a feature that is just shown community-wide. After their 24 hours of fame, basically the hype about the photo dies and new ones come in to replace them.Β

No this tells a story I believe.Β This not some "Selfie in my hot lingerie" pic.Β It's almost like a period piece for some 40's noir, notice the old radiator that you only find in very old buildings now a days.Β Though the platform heels and stockings are a little too modern for that period, you can imagine some gritty PI is talking to her about something as she continues unclothe so her Madame doesn't suspicious she's passing info to him.Β That's just my viewpoint
