Ported to OBJ and textured from the STL model by MoffKalast, with additional assistance and cleanup by Eddy_1701. Based on the Heracles class as developed for the NuBSG/TRS video game Battlestar Galactica: Deadlock. Preview picture posed in XNALara XPS. You can download the original STL model at the link below, but be warned! STL format models do not normally come with textures because they are intended for use with a 3D printer, with the end use painting them by hand after they are printed. Heracles, or Hercules if you go with the Romanized form of the name, was a Colonial capital ship used in the later part of the Cylon Wars and continued in service once the last of those was over. Its described as being "of Leonid descent," which to me means that its designers came from the Colonial world of Leo (hope I got that right, wink), and it is essentially a significantly revised and upgraded version of the older Minotaur class gunship. It's been called many things, but the old term brute force bruiser is probably the best short-form description of it. Another fanon source calls it "... straightforward, crude, and uncompromising." Heracles is literally crawling with weaponry both offensive and defensive, as well as a pair of "doorkicker" battlestar class heavy laser cannon in single forward mounts for direct frontal assaults on any target. It also carries comparable armor protection for defensive purposes. In short it sports almost the same firepower and defensive capabilities as an Artemis class battlestar (see separate entry) but on a smaller hull, although it lacks a battlestar's fighter squadron carry capability. That is not the design purpose of Heracles. It is a gunship, pure and simple, designed to open up on any target with its considerable firepower and keep pounding away at it until it is destroyed, it yields, or available munitions run out. FWIW no Heracles is known to have survived the final fall of the Colonies.
