Description

Image originally posted 10 February 2017.  Rear section of escape train engine is from REDC.  You have to go to Outbreak's "Below Freezing Point" for the cab and a proper exterior, or you can get the later YELLOW engine (!!!) from RE2 REmake.  I had the old one rebuilt by combining both the Outbreak BFP and REDC models into a single one and had it up for a while, but it's long been down.  Maybe somebody out there who DL'ed it at the time will be kind enough to reposed it again for everyone.   Fine by me if you do!

So why Ada instead of Annette?  That's the beauty of a fan revamp.  You don't have to stick to the letter of what was originally done, as long as you make it clear that's what you're doing and aren't snide and rude about it (like some people, but that was years ago now and I digress).  I know a lot of fans would have liked to see proto-Ada survive RE1.5 just like she eventually does in the later RE2.  One of my ideas for any RE1.5 REmake was that you could have multiple branching paths to different endings, just like you had in the original Resident Evil, and in at least one of them proto-Ada survives instead of Annette.  This concept image will help you visualize that possibility.

Early concept image for a fully immersive fan remake of RE1.5 on a modern 3D game engine.  I used the models of the old RE1.5 REvisited project and posed them in XNALara XPS, because that was all I could do at the time.  Several fans have since taken up the challenge, at least one on Capcom's own Unity engine and another using the Unreal engine.  While nobody's released a playable demo yet, you can see sample videos of their various efforts posted on YouTube.

It has long been a dream of mine to see RE1.5 get remade this way, and with an updated plot that would have brought it (mostly) in line with the rest of the RE franchise as it stood back then.  That's why I wrote the novel Resident Evil: Exodus - The Tale of Elza Walker and both sponsored and financed the RE1.5 REvisited project, so capable fans would have most of the resources they needed (along with an updated story and plot) for a RE1.5 REmake, if you will.  Capcom has made it clear that they're never going to do this themselves, and they have since effectively rebooted the RE franchise with both RE2 REmake and RE3 REmake.  All the same, I'd still like to see it happen, and I'd gladly support any fans with the talent who are serious about undertaking such a challenge.  That's why I'm reposting all of my old RE1.5 REvisited and RE Exodus imagery:  to re-fire everyone's imaginations.  Maybe ... someday ... *sigh*
