Kitty is the resident singleton of Fitz and Fen’s paddle. She’s a juvenile and they have NO idea where she came from - neither does she. That’s pretty normal for singletons who often slip away into the swamp shortly after hatching.
They call her “Kitty” because she wandered into their lives without saying a word like a stray cat.
