Description Download the mod over here www.dropbox.com/s/6r4hyuk0ucsb… . The current version is 1.4.

1.1: Added missing animations for Robes, Power Armor
1.2: Added missing animations for Adv. Power Armor
1.3: Fixed visibility-sphere bug
1.4: Fixed sledgehammer displacement bug

If the game crashes when you're using this mod, report in the comments what weapon you were holding, what armor you were wearing and what you were doing when it crashed. There is a possibility that some animations are broken, which could crash the game.

When used together with the Fallout 2 Restoration Project. Un-check "Weapon Animations" during the installation or they'll be replaced with the regular human animations
Video of the mod in action: www.youtube.com/watch?v=BWywu3…

Wow, I really didn't expect it to be this much work to make a new playable character in Fallout 2. There were more than 5000 frames of animation all in all for one character with one type of armor. There are over 100 animations, each with several frames and for each frame there are 6 directions.

I made a Blender scene specifically for capturing 3d objects to Fallout 2 sprites, but still. There was A LOT of work to be done to make just a single character. I had to model all the weapons myself since they're also part of the model. And the death animations, oh Loki the death animations... So much blood. The blood was made using a combination of particle effects and fluid simulations in blender.

All in all it took about two weeks.

I'd like to thank KP-ShadowSquirrel for his AMAZING 3d models, Rhodarein for his cool little image of Littlepip, the people at No Mutants Allowed forums, and of course Kkat for making Fallout: Equestria in the first place! Wooh!

-- Fallout 2: Littlepip mod v1.3 --

This mod gives you the option to play through Fallout 2 as a pony from Fallout: Equestria, a crossover fiction between Fallout and My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic.
There are no seperate armor animations. But hey, those things were made for humans right?

Instructions:

To use this mod you need the Hero apperence mod included in Sfall, which is an engine tweak for Fallout 2.

1. Install Fallout 2. If you don't have it you can buy it cheaply on Steam.

ALTERNATIVE 2. 3. Install the Fallout 2 Restoration Project

2. Install the Fallout 2 v1.02 patch (needed for Sfall)
You can get it here www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dloa…
Alternatively you can use Killaps unofficial patch from www.killap.net/

3. Download and extract Sfall in the folder where you installed Fallout 2
You can get Sfall here sourceforge.net/projects/sfall…

Sfall is now installed, but you still need to enable the Hero apperence mod.

4. Open the folder where you installed Fallout 2, and open the file ddraw.ini
Change the line EnableHeroAppearanceMod=0 to EnableHeroAppearanceMod=1

5. Copy the Appearance folder included in this archive to your Fallout 2 folder

Now when you create a female character, you can use the arrows above the spinning model to select Unicorn.

Issues:

Very often Fallout 2 tends to have a rainbow color bug in Windows 7. You'll know it if you see it.
If that happens, simply open ddraw.ini again and change the line Mode=0 to Mode=4

Check out donitz.deviantart.com/ for the latest version of this mod.

If you find any bad bugs, please report them in the comments. Do note that missing the fall-down animation when getting shot on a new screen is a bug in Fallout 2.

I'm going to be playing through the game myself now to properly test this mod. And it was some time ago since I last played Fallout 2

Enjoy!

A complete Fallout: Equestria replacement mod, with characters, locations and creatures from the fic, including mechanics for magic (unicorns) and flying (pegasi).

What? Too much? D=

I'm gonna start with saying I'm stupid with this kind of stuff but please bare with me. I can't find the file ddraw.ini only ddraw and ddraw.dll. My computer refuses to open the latter and I can't find the hero appearance thingy in there. I'm not sure if that's because I'm not looking hard enough or if I'm missing something. I got the stuff you said I would need though, the patch and Sfall. Also where's the folder I have to copy?

Everything goes right into the fallout 2\ folder. sFall includes ddraw.ini

Oh wait, I know why I can't open it. I got a virus awhile back and had to wipe everything I had on my computer, so it still doesn't have some of the programs used to open some of my stuff that i used to have. This has happened to me a few times already, I just need to find the stuff I need to open it. :/ Stupid virus...

I was using this mod and the fallout restoration mod. I picked up a hunting rifle/rifle and turned human.

Donitz In reply to Temple-Of-Luna [2012-08-23 19:15:02 +0000 UTC]

There shouldn't be any sprite overlap. Pip uses an un-used race index.

The Restoration mod includes an older version of sfall, which does not include:
A fix for hero apperence mod breakage in 2.13a (From Mash)
Hero apperence mod fixes and improvements (From Mash)
Hero apperence mod bug fixes. (From Mash)

You can download the latest version of sfall from [link]
but I'm not sure if you can install it after the hero restoration mod.

Temple-Of-Luna In reply to Donitz [2012-08-24 02:53:50 +0000 UTC]

The game will run but if the file is over written it gives a warning that x file has been overwritten change back now before it too late on the screen.

So if I kept playing it would have likely broken something or corrupted I guess. To bad, it a major fallout 2 mod many people do run.

Donitz In reply to Temple-Of-Luna [2012-08-24 19:52:42 +0000 UTC]

I have found the problem. Check out the installation of the restoration project. "New rifle animations". Un-check that and I bet it works just fine.

👍: 0 ⏩: 0

Donitz In reply to Temple-Of-Luna [2012-08-24 13:59:08 +0000 UTC]

That's annoying. I don't know what could be done to fix it short from waiting for a new version. All the sprites are there, that much I know. I've been using all the weapons myself. And I know the hero appearance mod is used in the restoration project for selecting unique male characters. Those are implemented in the exact same way.

Super awesome mod and a perfect excuse for me to replay the game for the 20'th time or so. It's a shame that the bridgekeepers rope and power armour overwrites the unicorn sprite though, it's tough to choose between ultimate protection or cute character model. Also it works fine with killaps fallout 2 restoration mod.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Donitz In reply to Deathprawler [2012-08-22 16:36:28 +0000 UTC]

Wait what? Did I forget a couple of armors? Darn! I thought I got them all.
HFCMBT, HFJMPS, HFLTHR, HFMAXX, HFMETL, HFPRIM... Oh good grief, HAPOWR, HAROBE.

Okay okay, as long as there are no new animations, this will only take a second... and done. Yeah it may not make sense that they'll recognize you without your robe but, a wizard did it!

Thank you for telling me. Please comment again if there are any further problems with the sprites.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Deathprawler In reply to Donitz [2012-08-23 10:13:23 +0000 UTC]

The armour seems to work fine now but since you asked for further problems:
1) when loading a save a ghostly sprite of a human character sometimes appear above Pip but dissapears after a second.
2) when fighting hand to hand behind a wall the game thinks the character model is a few hexes in front of the character during the strike and the seethrough portion moves accordingly.
Other than that it feels like some of her animations are a lot faster than normal, which is only a positive thing. Keep up the good work.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Donitz In reply to Deathprawler [2012-08-23 11:09:14 +0000 UTC]

1) I have noticed. I think that's an issue with the Hero Appearance mod. I assume that the mod changes the model immediately when the game starts, but since Pip is so small the entire sprite isn't overwritten. I don't really know what I could do to fix that.

2) Are you sure this is a problem with the new sprites and not the regular sprites? I should check into it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Deathprawler In reply to Donitz [2012-08-23 11:52:55 +0000 UTC]

Not sure but it's not a big deal anyway. Just found out that the advanced power armour still doesn't show Pip's sprite though.

I've just now started hearing about GoG, and it seems like a great service, offering proper emulation and all that.

I personally use Steam for convenience's sake. In my opinion it's easier when you got all the games in one place.

avallet In reply to Donitz [2012-08-26 14:16:25 +0000 UTC]

I dunno, when it comes to older games like Fallout 2 I find gog to be much less of a hassle, since the installer is already fully patched and tweaked to work with modern systems, so you don't have to hunt for fixes and stuff on the internet. Plus the forums link to all important mods, should you ever forget them.

I wish steam was as efficient with old games.
