History…:
[1985-88] Born the last pup from an aging mated pair, Iskra's upbringing was happy and healthy- quickly becoming a lot bulkier than the rest of her more athletic looking siblings. As a social butterfly it was easy for her to make friends within her age group! Sadly she picked up as many bullies as she did companions, often the butt of many jokes due to her size and deep fascination with crafting. Her idyllic childhood would come to a halt after the death of her eldest brother. Though she was only three at the time, Iskar understood that something was very wrong, and that her life would not be returning to the way it once was. It seemed that her other brother, Vect, had killed Hern in a fit of jealousy and rage. No evidence of this claim was ever brought forward- for whatever reason the clan fully assumed Vect had done it, and refused to give him a trial before being chased out into exile. Not long after Iskra would find her mother weeping over Hern's grave, openly mourning the loss of not one, but two sons.
[1989-1995] Over the next few years Iskra kept herself, and her mind, busy by doing anything she could- often resulting in odd jobs or filling in a spot when someone fell ill. This led to her quickly finding out she was..far from the best hunter in the pack. Her talents fell outside of hunting! Often she would patch up tunnels that had been damaged, crafted pelts and items from the animals the hunters had killed, or babysit the young of the pack. It was a mundane but simple life that never had her mind wandering for long, allowing her to shut away her family's misfortunes (and the misfortunes of those outside of her Herd).
[1996-97] Then war within the Auster herd happened! With their eventual acceptance of the deer people who had fled their herd, she soon gathered more information than she knew what to do with- not only about the Auster but the other clans as well! She became fascinated with the other cultures, especially when it overlapped with her love of crafting! If only she could see the amazing things she was hearing about, see and touch and explore these fantastical sounding places! War broke before she could turn daydreams into reality. Iskra chose to stay in the mountains to care for anyone who needed it while the rest of her pack went to war. Her father would return injured from the fight, and another of her brothers would never return at all - fallen at the hooves of a shadow.
[1998-99] When the last of her pack returned, Iskra decided it was time for her to get to explore the world herself, not content with just listening to the stories of others worlds alone. Life was short and uncertain, and if she waited much longer she too may fall at the hooves of a shadow or some other unknown danger. Though her parents were hesitant, they supported their only daughter's choice, requesting that she did her best to keep in touch. With their blessing Iskra finally packed her bag and strided away from her pack towards the forest. A full year later she arrived at the Auster woods and quickly found herself working under an Auster stag. There she was able to develop her skills while exploring her new home.
[2000-02] The start of her new life was especially exciting as with it came the marriage of Queen Cadhara and General Cailan! Never before had the Linx seen such festives; before she knew it she too was weaving among the masses, celebrating with her new herd. It was no small surprise when not long after the wedding tales of dragons traveled to Iskras door! Not only that, but they had come from the very place she had left and their presence was apparently causing a ruckus for every herd. Though she found their presence to be interesting Iskra chose to stay put, only beginning to realize the gravity of the situation when her magic began to wane along with everyone else's.
The months following were difficult- in many ways they reminded her of the war that threatened to wipe out her pack in her youth. And yet..it was so different, so obscure and strange and..frightening. A lost goddess? Dragons? Secret shrines? In a story it would seem fascinating but in reality…in reality Iskra didn’t know what to think. Especially when it came to Actaeos, the god she had heard about since she was a pup. Suddenly he was not just a myth, something tangible that made her feel a sort of awe..and a lot of fear. Iskra remembers little of this period of her life, mostly because the anxiety of it all had her running on autopilot. She vaguely remembers working on whatever task she was given with little rest, stopping only when her body no longer allowed her to work. Resources needed to be gathered for those who wished to find or protect the shrines, and of course there were those who had been unlucky enough to find themselves battling a Shadow or fleeing the scene from a dragon. Iskra had no idea if anything she did was helping anyone, but she took to her distractions nonetheless, unable to dwell on the heaviness of the situation for more than a few minutes before scampering off to work on something else. Her memories seem to start back up (at least clearly) a few weeks after everything had returned to the erm, “new normal”, blinking confusedly at all the new information she seemed to have missed.
[2003-08] Shaken from the war, Iskra continued to fold into herself, becoming detached from the world around her. She would hear stories of the world around her but never thought about it for long unless it directly (and unavoidably) affected her. New oddities or events were something she would rather not dwell on thank-you-very-much. What if something came along and ruined it? Hadn’t that been the pattern? Why celebrate only to mourn the loss of that happiness a short time after? To Iskra it seemed “silly” (though someone else might use the term nihilistic)- and so she just..stuck her head as far into the ground as she could, hoping that denial could carry her, seemingly, forever.
Forever lasted two years before ghostly sighting spooked her enough to reconsider her isolated lifestyle. Perhaps cutting herself off from almost everyone and everything wasn’t the best course of action! She would reach out to her now distant brothers and slowly rekindle a relationship with the youngest, Izan. He would visit upon returning from the newly allied Scybilline Order, rekindling Iskras interest in other cultures with stories of his trip (both of them were a bit worse for wear due to the nightmares plaguing the land, but still managed to get along well enough). Unfortunately for Iskra, the self fulfilling prophecy she made a few years ago would soon come to pass with the disappearance of the Austrian King. Iskra was lucky enough to avoid the cursed island, though she often felt a strong guilt for “staying” behind. Like many of the others within her herd, she too would catch glimpses of a white fawn- though she never attempted to do more than watch it they scampered away. Eventually those who had been lost returned home and with it…an attempted sense of normalcy. Those Iskra had managed to build a repertoire quickly fell back into their old habits, and “being much too polite” (her words) allowing herself to once again be at legs length from everyone around her. After all, there was no use crying over a kicked bucket!
[2009-10] She had returned to the mountains for a short time when word was sent that her mother had been caught in the massive flood within the Linxs tunnels. While she had been lucky enough to survive the initial disaster, the damage she took on was too much for her aging body. Iskra was relieved she had been able to spend time with her mother before she passed but found no comfort in her old home once her mother was gone. This was no longer her life, her herd. Her father and brother did offer her a space within their dens but she declined, feeling too much like a stranger. With a heavy heart she once again left her birthplace, this time for good.
[ Back in the lush woods she found some peace- no longer as anxious as she once was, though she has slowly retreated into herself, fully focusing on tasks and crafts more than connections. ]
[2011] It has now been over ten years since the traveling Linx found her place in Auster. Part of this has been a journey of self discovery; what is it that she wishes from life? Why hasn’t she felt the need for a mate the way others have? Is she truly content staying in the woods, or should she continue to explore the world? These questions are only beginning to be answered- perhaps with time and the help of others, Iskra may just be able to find the answers she seeks.
[ Currently ] The world has continued to change and Iskra isn’t sure how to feel about it. One could say she is “going with the flow” though she would say she feels as if she is being pushed with the tide. Change, it seems, is inevitable. With the chaos breaking out in Hihiri, Iskra has wondered if perhaps she should travel and see if there is anything she can do to help. After all, she is rather familiar with water magic! Still, it would probably do her some good to make some connections before heading out on her own.

----{ NOTES + EXTRAS
- OG design was made by BrokenFawnHill ! This includes some of Iskras history. Her personality and story beats (within her history) were based off Fawns original ideas!
- Iskra doesn't seem all that interested in male horses...though if you ask her about it she can't seem to give a particular reason why..
- Often gets odd looks from her herbivore neighbors when she brings back her dinner.
