No, I won't respect your opinion because if acted upon it hurts the child being hit. It is not a view point worth respecting in any sense, shape or form. It's extremely disrepectful and humiliating to the child, and a parant, as an adult, should possess the mental faculties to be able to talk to the child in a way that s/he understands what s/he did was wrong that spanking the child shouldn't even be considered an option.
