Description

You know, it takes a lot for me to up and abandon something. Especially something that has been a part of my life for about half of it at this point. I never actually thought that anything would push me to leaving deviantART. It was always a backup of sorts for me…

But this last year has really done a number on my psyche. First NFTs, then AI. I don’t mean this in general either. I mean it here on DA specifically. I haven’t had a lot of art theft overall, but a good 1/3rd of the art that has been stolen from me has been sourced from this site - and that’s just from what I can see. I don’t want to pay for deviantART to tell me if someone used their site to mint my work without my permission and I sure as heck don’t consent to having my work being used to potentially train my replacement in the digital art world.

I understand that DA has backpedaled and made the AI opt-out option a default, but the damage is done. They’ve proven that they’ll try to “ask for forgiveness instead of permission,” which is not cool for an art community.

If you would like to follow me and my artwork, please do so at dragonmun.com. That has been, and always will be, the home for the things that I create.
