There are a few of you who may think that this is a good thing. But you know what I think? It's not. I'll tell you why:It used to be that when you block someone, they just can't reply to your page. But for some reason, dA thought it was a good idea to update it so that people can't reply to you AT ALL. ANYWHERE. It may sound good at first but if you really REALLY think about it, it will backfire and create even more drama.
It is possible for trolls to abuse this updated block feature and spam your page with multiple sockpuppet accounts that you can't reply to because you're blocked. "So what?" You say, "you can just block back or report them." True. But what if this happens to you?
Also, what if you wanted negotiate for a diplomatic solution (or in simpler terms, talk it over)? There has to be at least some way to put an end to the drama if you wanted to end it. "Oh, if you get blocked, chances are you deserved it and don't deserve second chances." Butthurt anti-second chancers can eat a dick for all I care. I believe in second chances, but I also believe in taking responsibility for your own shit. So fuck you to butthurt anti-second chancers.
TL;DR: The updated block feature sucks and will only do more damage than good.

Yeah but still. Block avoiding can result in a ban... I only risked it twice for a good reason: finding out WHY I got blocked. And the simple answer is: the person got worried it might extend to a major issue.

I only block spammers, trolls, users I'm having issues with, users who won't leave me alone and block abusers. Personally, I think the staff should start revoking the block feature from people who abuse it as a way of saying "don't block unless you really need to".

Or they could ban those who deserve to be banned. The good thing is this: The deviantART staff reserve the right to have anybody banned for ANY reason or no reason at all. Same thing when it comes to deleting deviations OR banning someone from reporting deviations (yes, people have gotten banned from reporting deviations, not exactly a ban on their account but still).
