Description
Pathos and Ethos were two identical sisters. They traveled very far in the west, to get to Fragrant Sanctuary. Despite the terrible weather and constant walking, they continued on.Ethos questioned if the place would even accept refugees like them, since these cities are known to be invite-only. But Pathos assures her that they probably won’t mind, and will help them when it comes down to it. Ethos sighed and pushed away her pessimistic thoughts, getting influenced by her sister’s enthusiasm.
But such a hopeful outlook didn’t last long. Along the way, Ethos became heavily injured, obtaining wounds to her side and leg. Stopping the bleeding, the only other thing Pathos could do was help her walk, slinging her arm over her shoulders and continuing forward. The slow pace they were going at was agonizing for the both of them. It didn’t help that Fragrant Sanctuary was still far away, and there’s no other civilization in sight.
As night approaches, they were both exhausted. Ethos was holding the lantern since Pathos was busy supporting her. She was about to say that they should stop to rest for now, when she noticed something. “Oh, you gotta be kidding me…” Ethos muttered.
Pathos stopped in her tracks and looked over a Ethos, who had a disgruntled expression. “Is something wrong?”
”I just… think I hear rushing water. And I fear it might be a flooded river…” Ethos states. Pathos goes quiet, and indeed… in the distance in front of them, was the sounds of treacherous waters.
Ethos had a grim expression, thinking, while Pathos also tries to think about how to alleviate the situation. “Should we rest for the night? So that maybe it calms down when it becomes morning…?”
Ethos was quiet, then slowly nods. “Okay. I think that’s the only thing we can do for now.”
Pathos was silently glad that she agreed. For a second, she thought Ethos may want to brute force it, but… with her injuries, it’s better to be more careful. Pathos creates a small camp, and the two sleep.
I’m lazy to write the rest, but basically at some point in the next day, Ethos fucking dies. As she breathed her last, Pathos had no idea what to do, as she holds her sister’s corpse.
Eventually, after a lot of crying, she hears someone approaching. Looking up, she is met with someone holding a cube. They spoked to her with tempting words, and in her grief, she accepted.
And thus, Logos was made.
