Where on Earth can you find a place this amazing?
The only places within fifty miles of my hometown are tiny hills and forests.

Great capture, in stillness and motion water seems to be like the words coming from us, vapor in our minds, liquid in our mouths and solid when we carve them in stone and they border the ocean...
Kudos for this wonderful work

You are quite talented with long exposures and you've got a good eye for composition.
May I ask what kind of ND filter you use?

Thank you. I use an ND400 9-stop ND for my long exposures.

I almost figured. I'm actually in the search of that one. But almost every story here in the neighbourhood doesn't have it.
But from what I've heard it's really great!

I was lucky they had one in stock when I went in, they're expensive too but well worth the money I think.

It's expensive, just like every other camera accessory.

It's got such an end of the world feeling. You should visit the Devil's Pool at Victoria Falls, I have a feeling you would love it.

What kind of camera did you use? etc etc? I am really interested to know. Do you do IR photography? BTw this shot is exceptionally brilliant, and I think the other comments just aren't fulsome enough. You are an extraordinarily talented photographer - the best landscape work I have seen in a very very long time...congrats and kudos!
I guess you have a wideangle lens?...If you don't mind, please do tell all..

Canon 40D and most my seascapes are taken at 10mm on Canon 10-22mm wide angle. I also use an ND400 9-stop ND filter for my longer exposures. I haven't tried IR but I wouldn't mind giving it a shot. Thanks for the compliment, glad you like my work

Aha! I thought I had spotted a canon 40D! they have a really distinct look to the images..
I have a canon eos 400D that I don't use since I got a Pentax K20D but i am thinking of getting the canon converted to IR to do nudes stc...I was disappointed with the 400D - I guess I needed to spend a whole lot more to do what I reall wanted. I have just been trying to find out which ND filters will fit my Pentax but to no avail, so I shall call them up tomorrow...
I have been impressed with the IR nudes done by [link] But I would also like to use it for landscape.
Seriously, you have inspired me to lift my game and try a whole lot harder..

40D is a fantastic machine, really happy with it and can't say I've considered buying anything else, although I wouldn't mind going to full frame one day but for now I cannot afford it. If you want to do long exposures invest in a ND8 or ND400, both fantastic useful filters. If you have any questions reguarding photography, drop me a note

Thanks so much fior the info and help Drew. I have ordered myself an ND8 but it will take a wee while to get to Cairns and then I have to get there to get it!
I will certainly be picking your brains in future, your work has given me renewed enthusiasm. I have been directing my watcher to your site via my latest journal...

ND8 is a great filter, I have to pick one up myself sometime soon, great for waterfalls. Just saw your journal, thanks so much
