Description
The Dscript for Conlangers and Other Languages Guide (Full size pic here) is designed to provide the starting blocks necessary to design your own dimensional writing system. Dscript is great not only for alphabetical language but can also be adapted to many other applications, some of which benefit greatly from the dimensionality.Dchem notation, aka Dscript Chemistry, is a great example non-language application, although I suppose chemistry notation could be classified as a language of sorts.
Molecules, while 3D, can largely be drawn as 2D object without omitting structural components, this is because most molecules don't actually employ a "fully 3D structure", instead they are more like a 2D structure bent and twisted in 3 dimensions.
Dscript would also be well suited to logical or flow representations, with its ability to fork alone it provides great advantages over standard writing systems.
Whether you plan to create a complex representational writing system, simply swap in letters from an existing alphabet, or just doodle, this is a great resource to start out with.
If you like this guide, you will probably like the Dscript v1.0 manual. This was my first attempt to "index the dimensionality" of Dscript using a set alphabet. Dscript is like an ever forking path, the possibilities are endless, and the hardest part is determine starting points, so many seem so tempting, where to begin?
