The Netherlands of now is very different from how it was long ago.. we just changed the landscape *shrugs*

People: on the old pictures you see a large body of water, pretty central, called 'De Zuyderzee' or 'De Zuiderzee' more recently. Now look at the current picture again. That 'island' in the south-east? We created it because we needed room. Also, to protect the shore we turned it into a lake. I love my people.
God created the world, the Dutch created the Netherlands, and if God decides to break our dikes, we're goddamn screwed because pretty much half of it is below sealevel.
