Okey about NLs steampunk:
He was once a slave. He tried to get away with his youger sister and brother, but he failed. As punishment his ears got cut off. He did a second attempt by swiming away alone and got away. Now he's rich, but he still feels sorry for the fact that his younger sister and brother are still slaves. He got rich enough to get some (rabbit) ears from iron, silver and a little bit of gold and bronze.
